Tetris for Famicom, originally published under a wrong license, led to Henk Rogers's purchase of the Tetris license on multiple platforms, which later led directly to further Nintendo releases.
Oddly, this game mapped Down to rotate and A to hard drop, and there is no soft drop present making this version one of the weakest of it's kind. Thankfully this version of Tetris would be later followed by Tetris 2 + Bombliss, which has more standardized controls.
Not to be confused with Nintendo's version, which was the version released outside Japan.
