The longest ever chess game lasted 20 hours, the longest ever Monopoly game lasted 70 days, and now we have the longest ever Tetris match, which recently ended on 3/09 shortly after reaching the 2 year mark.
Played by hrlarry and albatross, who took their turns every few days, this game is part of Captivate’s King of Kings 3 tournament (https://challonge.com/KingOfKings3). The winner, hrlarry/larrytetris, will face baseballboy to determine who wins it all.
For those unfamiliar with KOS, it is a turn based Tetris game in which each player may place 7 pieces per turn. Due to an altered combo table, in which attack decreases in longer combos, players mainly utilize allspins to send jeopardy(lines) and top out their opponent.
Albatross, a.k.a. pwn_by_numbers, was persistently aggressive throughout the match and created amazing spike setups nonstop, while hrlarry played defensive and survived with great downstack finds and timing. Overall, albatross sent over 21% more attack while hrlarry cleared 29% more lines!

Unfortunately, albatross resigned the game due to personal circumstances, an ending that no one was happy to witness. This game is still undoubtedly legendary though, and if you aren’t familiar with KOS, or even allspins in general, I’d still recommend giving it a watch—it’s absolutely mindblowing!
