Well-known for their incredible proficiency in singleplayer, fortissim2 has long been a top contender for many world records. Previously pushing the Jstris Ultra world record to new highs, holding the TETR.IO 40L world record and doing other silly things, they finally achieved the overall 40L sprint world record just recently.
Question: What pronouns do you go by?
- Answer: they/them is generally fine, but my family and friends use he/him
Question: Where did sillyshark123 come from? Is there a story behind that account?
- Answer: so i have a shark furry oc that i use in my profile picture, one day smolfeesh just called me sillyshark123 in his discord and i really liked the simplicity of the username
- i was originally going to change my tetrio username from fortissim2 to that, but i didn't want to lose my verified role and i ended up secretly creating a jstris account under that name to track my sprint progress on ipad
- i decided to stop playing on my other 2 jstris accounts, fortissim2 (my main one on pc) and trapinch_ (my alt for ipad), because i was getting stressed from sprint and i didn't want the community to pressure me further into getting the sprint wr
Question: Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of Tetris?
- Answer: other than tetris, i love building keyboards and typing really fast on them! i'm also learning stenography, a cool shorthand system used to transcribe speech in real-time but it's very hard (and fun lol)
- i also enjoy swimming and working out, and i'm pretty good at solving rubik's cubes
Question: How does your proficiency in Tetris influence your day-to-day life? How much do the people around you know?
- Answer: tetris doesn't really affect my day-to-day life, but when video games are brought up as a topic in a conversation, i always mention others about tetris :)
- my family definitely knows about my tetris skills but probably not as much as my classmates, but i feel like my school has started playing a lot more tetris after my sprint wr reaction in the cafeteria
Question: What reaction did you have when you got the World Record? How did the other people in the cafeteria react?
- Answer: i jumped from my seat and shouted "what the heck" really loudly, i still remember that everyone went silent and i started shaking a lot
Question: How do you stay motivated when grinding? Do you have any tips for aspiring sprinters?
- Answer: usually i try to think positively about my worst sprint chokes (especially my 2 7pps chokes at 94 pieces), and i don't compare myself to others
for tips: don't be tense, don't hold spam, take frequent breaks and play more
