Texmaster is one of many fan games inspired by the TGM series by Arika, the game began as a direct clone of TAP and initially the developers even went as far as adding official sounds into the game. After a while the developers wrote in their blog that they were considering charging money for the game, much to the dismay of Arika and TTC. Mihara wrote in his blog that they were considering taking legal actions against Triosoft, seeing this, Triosoft removed the statement about charging for the game and started displaying IP addresses of people who downloaded the game.

It is currently unknown exactly what transpired after this but eventually Triosoft ceased the distribution of Texmaster and went underground for several years. In August 2007 a all-new version of Texmaster with retooled graphics and sounds resurfaced and the developers have given us regular updates since. Texmaster 2009 beta2 is, at the time of writing, the most accurate TGM clone available and it features game modes based on both Tetris The Grand Master, Tetris The Absolute The Grand Master 2 PLUS, and Tetris The Grand Master 3 Terror-Instinct.
