The Hummingbird (formerly the Subscriber Special) is a T-Spin Single opening setup for early S/Z bags. It only requires 5 tetrominoes to execute, and can easily be followed up with an STSD. The L piece is placed after clearing the second line.
Build Order
In order to build the Hummingbird with an SZ start, it is required to place exactly one J piece or L piece before the T-Spin Single. The I piece can be placed on the first J/L in its respective position regardless of whether it comes before or after the T-Spin.
|
|
|
If both J and L must be placed before the T-Spin can be executed, a similar setup can be used. Note that the O piece is on the left side of the T-Spin, therefore it is essential to know the queue before choosing this setup or the regular Hummingbird.

STSD Stacking
The following cover most circumstances when stacking an STSD in the second bag.

TSD Conversion
The T-Spin Double can be converted to a T-Spin Triple, Imperial Cross, Trinity or 4-Wide.

After the T-Spin Single, the setup is generally continued with an Imperial Cross. The first two continuations have a decent Perfect Clear chance, but the third continuation should only be used for unfair bags, which never results in a Perfect Clear chance.
- First continuation - S → L and J → O (84.56% PC rate, 20 minimal solutions)

- Second continuation - J → L (50.00% PC rate, 1 solution): If the T piece comes first, the PC rate will rise to 100.00%.
6-line Perfect Clear
Alternatively, you can get a Perfect Clear in 6 total lines. Conjecturally, you have these ways to get it with a T-Spin Double beforehand. The first two diagrams uses the I piece while the third uses the Z.
