- Square One Championship Concludes with Record Breaking Numbers
This Saturday, the biggest Modern Tetris tournament to date crowned kazu as the grand champion! In addition to raising a $3000 prizepool, the biggest in Modern Tetris history, Puzzle Kingdom’s Twitch stream peaked at 729 viewers. Counting official multilingual restreams, the viewer count was over 1000, making SQ1 the most watched Modern Tetris tournament of all time without Twitch frontpaging!
While the main driving forces behind the event were admins Moose and EdgeTE, PK would like to shout out everyone else who helped to make this happen. Glitchy, a prominent graphics expert in the community, created overlay animations, background animations, a stinger transition, and the intro animation. Besides for programming and designing overlays, nukeexplosions created a bot that could tell what phase the match was in and make avatars glow during Zone. JimothyJimothy created a spreadsheet that was integral in calculating match results and seeding, which was then sent to the overlays.
