DPC Setups

When you do a perfect-clear loop that takes 8 lines to complete, such as First-Second perfect clear, SingleYou or Mountainous Stacking, you will be left with an empty board and an extra piece. A DPC setup will use the extra piece and 2 bags to create a T-Spin and a perfect clear, bringing you back to the beginning with no extra pieces, to continue the loop.

Note: T-Spin percentages do not include TSMS.

Note: All setups on this page are 100%. However, you may need 180 spins for some solves.

Generally, one should prioritize saving O and S/Z, although I is also viable. Try to avoid saving J/L and T whenever possible, as they yield the lowest scoring patterns.

O piece

O -> L/J (Kuruma DPC)

T-Spin Chance - 0.00%

Tetris Chance - 82.78%

Bad Solve Chance - 17.22%

Solutions:

This is a solve that can get you a Tetris where others wouldn't, but is not neccessary.

L/J -> O (TSD DPC)

T-Spin Chance - 63.85%

Tetris Chance - 0.00%

Bad Solve Chance - 36.15%

Note: This is the most efficient Extra O DPC.

Solutions:

These are 2 setups that can get you extra T-Spins.

S/Z piece

O -> S/Z (Kuruma DPC)

T-Spin Chance - 0.00%

Tetris Chance - 82.78%

Bad Solve Chance - 17.22%

Note: this shape is the same as the extra O DPC when you have O before L, so it has the same solutions.

Solutions:

This is a solve that would get you a Tetris when others wouldn't, but it is not necessary

S/Z -> O (Lime DPC)

T-Spin Chance - 33.33%

Tetris Chance - 0.00%

Bad Solve Chance - 66.67%

Lime DPC is notoriously hard to solve and scores very little on average; avoid it when possible.

Solutions:

The last solution may sometimes yield a TSS or TSD.

This extra solve can sometimes get you a TSS as well:

I piece

O -> I (Fake Butter DPC)

T-Spin Chance - 0.00%

Tetris Chance - 66.67%

Bad Solve Chance - 33.33%

This setup will have to be mirrored depending on whether J or L comes first.

JL -> O (Pelican DPC)

T-Spin Chance - 18.57%

Tetris Chance - 56.67%

Bad Solve Chance - 29.68%

This setup will have to be mirrored depending on whether S or Z comes first.

Solutions:

These are 2 setups that can get you extra T-Spins.

I -> O -> L (Bad TKI DPC)

T-Spin Chance - 0.00%

Tetris Chance - 36.67%

Bad Solve Chance - 63.33%

This pattern, when mirrored, will cover the bags not covered by the previous 2 setups. However, you should avoid it when possible due to mediocre scoring.

Solutions:

J/L piece

Note: These setups are not 100% consistent without 180 spins.

S -> Z (MKO SPC)

T-Spin Chance - 55.24%

Tetris Chance - 0.00%

Bad Solve Chance - 44.76%

If you have the L piece, the piece requirement is flipped.

Solutions:

Z -> S (TSM J SPC)

T-Spin Chance - 33.33%

Tetris Chance - 67.78%

Bad Solve Chance - 32.22%

Different builds depending on whether the O or the S comes first. A third of the time, you will be able to make a TSS into Tetris.

There is only 1 pattern needed. It does not require mirror.

T (OSZ Ball DPC)
