You already know Expert Mode and Expert PLUS mode, well here's your chance to possibly create a new mode (Expert HD mode) and help shape the future of multiplayer Tetris.

From a recent PM I received from one of the top dogs from Tetris Friends:
[!--quoteo--][div class=\\\'quotetop\\\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\\\'quotemain\\\'][!--quotec--]On another note, I've been following the "What we love about Tetris Friends" thread and I have problems following what exactly users don't like about TF.COM. Do you think it would be possible to come up with a ruleset that might make the core users happier? If that is possible, then maybe we can add another sub-mode under "Expert Mode" that would be the Hard Drop ruleset.

Expert PLUS
Expert HD
It would have to be a ruleset that doesn't involve extra UI for configuration; however, we could grant access to some of the HD players to test the mode on our Beta servers for tuning.

Let me know if you think this is something that is possible to get people to agree on.

So this thread is for your guys suggestions on what you think would improve the gameplay.  For the people who hate TF's gameplay, what would you like changed so that it's more enjoyable or geared towards fair competitive play?

I will compile the detailed list here, and as the threads direction changes so will this list:

As a reference we'll just use Expert PLUS mode since it has a pretty nice system already, and we'll talk about changes we want to it.
I'll start with my suggestions, and remove or add to it acccording to responses.

Changes to Expert PLUS:

+ Combo sends garbage starting on combo 2 rather than 1
+ Max combo garbage capped at 4
+ EZ T-spins send 1 line instead of 0
+ Garbage hole is changed on each attack rather than on each add to the field.
+ No or reduced line clear delay
+ Faster SoftDropping
+ No auto-handicapping whatsoever
+ Garbage to all (reduced if necessary)

What do you guys think?  Let's see if we all can agree on some good settings for multiplayer.

No line clear delay!
And we should be able to choose between different levels of softdrop speed. The current one is too slow.
And all spins would be great too.

Forgot to add: Option to turn off backgrounds! They are so annoying!

I would like a sonic drop, or even better the option to turn it on/off, dunno if that's possible.  Other than that what you have is good.

Edit
I see other people posted sonic drop too. i like option to change level instead of just sonic or slow.  And yes all spins too. I forgot about that.  The option to turn on allspins at least.

Another suggestion not mode related:  Allow foreigners to play on TF if they want to, don't block them out (Japanese, Korea).  Players should be allowed the option to play whatever Tetris version they want.

Double rotate?

I think he meant just ruleset changes, like numbers that can be changed from existing rulesets lol.  This is more of a feature that would be added to the controls section.  This is one reason I think implementing all spins might be difficult for them to do right now, because they would have to code in detection for them.

I'm going to -- at the very least -- echo the "what you've got plus sonic drop" sentiment. All Spins could also be cool so I wouldn't mind if that showed up.

How about rules for things other than 1v1? If it isn't too much more work, it'd be nice to see targeting ditched for send-to-all or even spread.

Another thing that has been bothering me is the T-Spin Mini rules. After working out the full set of rules, I've concluded they're pretty batshit insane. They really don't need to be anywhere near that convoluted. Although now we're getting even more into the realm of engine changes, it'd be nice to see either a) non-immobile twists being Mini and the rest being "proper" or b) 3-corner entirely abandoned for immobile.

Also, I'm wondering if it would make sense to space or cap the combo table differently. How would people feel by capping earlier (+3? +2 like Hangame?) or spacing things out more? (0, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, ...?) I know this is probably going to be a controversial topic, but I think it is worth talking about.

sonic drop
weaken combos
lessen line clear delay
make sure i win every time

We do not forgive. We do not forget.

Ah yeah, I forgot, zero line clear delay would be nice. IRS/IHS aren't coded properly anyway, so it'd be nice to sidestep that issue entirely.

So we already have default, expert, expert plus, now add expert hd and then what? expert blink is coming next? Why it can't be more like TOJ, with one well balanced rule suitable for everyone?

I understand that TF believe that noobs require some special treatment and should not be exposed to some serious play, but i care more about fair (no auto-ballancing) gameplay being more accessible to beginners than about adding more super elite settings.

Loving the idea of spreading combos out a bit further..... but I'd also like to see combos start on 2 instead of 1.  I think the combination of starting on combo 2 and then spreading it out a bit would be a nice and needed nerf for combos.  IMO something like 0, 0, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, and then 4 for the rest might work nicely.  That might be an inelegant solution though.

Noogy

better DAS and ARR, like on scale from 1-10 instead of 1-5
ya 180 spins would be nice too

These are actually more like features than a ruleset.
