[!--quoteo--][div class=\\\'quotetop\\\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\\\'quotemain\\\'][!--quotec--]I had trouble getting pieces to spin as quickly and consistently as I wanted them to. The game seems to rotate a piece, then force you to wait for a moment before you can rotate it again.

Well, I can confirm that there isn't a problem with piece rotation time. One thing you may want to consider is that horrific Sony Bravia TV with that estimated 15ms response rate...

Another thing I noticed with the sprint video is that it displays combos. WHY? Combos are bad in sprint because of the line clear delay.
Granted, I think it would be AWESOME if they used this to change sprint. Imagine if the higher your combo, the faster the line clear delay is. (So a line clear can have a 1 second delay with a super fancy animation and a 4 combo reduces it to .8 and a 6 combo reduces it to .6, etc.) It would totally change how you play sprint and would look more appealing to the mass audience to see just a flood of combos.

Did we have anyone representing Harddrop at NYCC? Looks like they had a tetris ultimate tournament (sprint format?). Would have been nice to have had a pro there wiping the floor with everyone else's times

if it wouldn't be another continent I would've loved to participate... it was like a 90s sprint that won the last Ultimate battle I heard of... even I could beat that with 100% consistency

on another note: first release date is set to 11th November, get hyped for another 3DS Tetris... but I still don't think that the game will be much better than Axis... at least in the interesting things aka multiplayer...

This video is the "official 3DS" teaser trailer. It's nothing special but I love how they forgot to unlist the video.

Here's some player who tries to play tetris. (Slam em'?)

IGN talks about Tetris. This is the same footage they released before.

Nothing special, but that's the results of my youtube search.

Response time is just how long it takes a pixel to turn from full black to full white and generally comparatively little to do with input lag (and a bit more to do with smearing/blurring as the pixels take time to fade from one color to another). The problem is going to be in the video processing pipeline (i.e., upscaling the picture if it's not at the display's native resolution, whatever dumb fake 120hz filters they may have forgotten to disable, etc.). The 15ms response time is only a frame, compared to a video processing pipeline that is potentially several times longer than that.

So the IGN dude wants to stream "the hell out of tetris"? I'm freaking curious about that... let's hope for some new tournament scene with some regularity...

so TU for 3DS is $29.99 from retailers and only $19.99 from the e-shop.

At 48 ish seconds the player to the right receives a garbage line with no holes in it. Then this line got cleared all by itself
At 1:23 the second player from the right receives a garbage line with two holes in it. More cases of garbage lines with two holes appears throughout the game.
As the players clear lines they level up and the gravity increases...( my personal opinion on high gravity in this type of multiplayer mode is  )

There might be other things in there that I missed. I have only watched the video twice.

First off: we don't know if this is "championship rules" or not. Also, FFA could be totally different than 1v1. So, all this over-analyzing could be for nothing. That said...

Non-change-on-attack garbage! =`) I'm so excited. The garbage actually looks challenging, so games might not last forever. Judging by the frequency of lined-up holes, it's maybe around 90% hole change chance, (which is ideal!). No more see-saw effect. Downstackers rejoice!

Targeting appears to be cyclical. (First send to B, then to C, then to D, and then repeat.) I actually like that. A player is much less vulnerable to getting unluckily "Xealed." Of course, it can still be gamed. Players can still gang up on one player. I'm not sure how I feel about it altogether just yet. I suppose it's the best "not-too-complicated" solution (barring send to all).

A lot of doubles sent the single solid garbage row. Although, I kind of got the feeling it might be randomly injected here and there. Same with the double broken garbage rows. I'm not really sure what the point of them is.

If you receive more than one solid garbage row, it'll automatically clear and send by itself. I think the trigger might be the next piece lock. I wonder if that means you could send a 5+ line clear this way (Tetris + solids).

The double broken rows might be intended to be easy to handle, but I think it's the opposite. I'd rather receive a single-broken row. They both increase the height the same, but the double requires more pieces to clear. I wonder what the point of them is. I personally don't think I'll like them.

They weren't doing anything fancier than Tetrises and some Combo-2s, but the combo tables don't seem to differ from what we're used to so far.

Man, single-preview and challenging garbage! How fun!

Uh the multiplayer is *apparently* cross platform. This for me gives it a real shot at being an awesome game.

it is? do you have a source to prove that? still can't believe that ubisoft can make something that good XD

DumbledorsArmy

I saw something about that too, the mutliplayer being cross platform. But I'll be damned if I can find any info about it.

Kitaru

Seems unlikely, at least in the sense that people are thinking. PS4 + Vita is most likely a thing (see a number of games with this functionality, including Puyo Puyo Tetris), and PS4 + Vita + PC ostensibly _could_ be a thing (see Counter Strike: Global Offensive, which offered PS3 + PC cross platform play during beta but dropped it due to concerns of blocking updates on one platform while waiting to port functionality to the other).

However, Xbox Live has always been a closed ecosystem and I don't see Microsoft letting up on that any time soon. It's similar to the Puyo Puyo Tetris case, where cross platform multiplayer was split between PS3 + Vita or WiiU + 3DS -- I could see it being within the realm of possibility to stretch from Sony platforms to PC, but not across branded divides.

Speaking of the PC version, anyone know what platform its going to be released on?  extremely tempted to know beforehand so I can be prepared to dive in as soon as it's out.
Seeking improvement on Tetris, but taking it one mino at a time.
