Noogy and I are still trying to arrange a time that suits us both.  I think we should be able to play today.  Sorry for this delay.

Sorry, you guys have until midnight tonight.  I have to keep the tournament moving.

triple_double and I played our round 3 match anyway for good times' sake, and if you could edit in the score that'd be much appreciated.

i respect you.

QuoteLike many setups here, it is useful if your opponent doesn't move and you get 4 Ts in a row.

Quoting from other thread and putting here because this is an update to the tournament rules:

Quote from: Integration
Recently, I have watched the stream of Larry vs Arf. And it seemed, I had tuned in just in the right moment. Score was 14 - 6 in Larry's favour. Arf wasted his first line and did a misdrop: Meanwhile Larry pulled off a mid-stacked 4-wide. But he didn't execute it, although he got lucky garbage. Instead he waited until Arf was topped out by the hurry up garbage.

In this case, I see no problem with it. Larry just did it for the LOLz. He would have won this game and ergo the whole match anyway. But I think, it should be forbidden for the rest of the tournament, just to be on the safe side. I don't think anybody would use this anyway, because he might become outcast.

It's on the stream at 34:20. Here some screenshots:

This tactics might also work in Battle 2P.

Thanks I wasn't aware that this type of strategy could be done in combination with the 4w and hurry up garbage to outlast the opponent when I created the tournament rules.

I have to alter the rules a little bit - even though it's a problem with the game itself.  Just like in Counter-Strike when a single flashbang can blind the entire map are ruled out of competitive play, any players who have receive 0 queued garbage lines on their field for longer than 30 seconds will automatically lose the round.

To be honest larry didn't do anything against the rules, he's just smart enough to find unique ways to win.  However, since I feel it isn't good for competition to allow this in tournaments - I will not be counting the rounds affected and they will need to be replayed.  So in this case, the score will be 14-6 and it will be up to arf whether or not he wants to (come out of retirement and =P) finish the match.

Now that this is against the tournament rules, in future matches, if anyone is found to be using a stalling technique where they do not receive queued garbage for over 30 seconds, the round will be counted for the other player.

Did you see me doing that the other day against ZeroT? Damn that was one of my secret strategies to use when I'm 1 game away from being eliminated.

Also would it be OK if me and MiracleMan played the next day (if he's OK with it) since tomorrow is Father's Day here in New Zealand. I can make the time but I'd rather not spend too much of my day on it.
