Who cares about style, it lets the reader know that you aren't 100% sure of what you are saying. Are you supposed to have complete confidence if you are new to tetris? I wouldn't think so.
I was referring to cases where the person believed and thought that what they were saying was true. If a person is unsure whether or not something is true, then they'd be misrepresenting their beliefs by putting it that way. I thought you guys were talking about cases where the person believes what they're saying is true, and you want them to add in disclaimers just because they are new.

I'm mostly referring to threads where people ask for advice and other new players give them advice that is pretty wrong.

but yeah I can just ignore it . Which for the most part i do.

~More skill for me if people run around with noob theories.~
When one of us get better, we all get better because we keep looping through each other's ideas. You are hindering this process by not providing a much-needed counterpoint when you see the opportunity to do it.

And no it is not more skill for you. It would be in a zero-sum scheme where your skill is measured relative to others it might be, but as far as your actual skill, no of course you do not get better by keeping your secrets to yourself. By sharing your ideas, you actually will get better because in the future you will be engaging with more-informed people.

[now entering flamewar territory]
I hope I am misunderstanding you, but one way to interpret what you are saying is that experts can have a license to speak their mind and profess their opinions as fact. Following through this a bit more, you would be excluding anyone who cannot beat you at Tetris regardless of how intensely or passionately they study the game. Another criterium for deserving to profess facts which has been mentioned is "anyone who plays the game for x+ years."

Instead of imbuing some people's words with an eminent authority, I'm suggesting that we take a less vain and anonymous approach. If we try to forget our reputations, preconceptions, and biases, and just try to focus on the issue, then it really shouldn't matter who is saying this or that. It is all open to correction after all.

But still, it's deeper than that. It's not the final result that's important, but the mistakes that were made and unmade along the way that truly define a concept. This is why when it comes down to refining theory, there should not be any competition whatsoever. We need to be humble enough not to care who is saying this or that, or who said what first, but simply care that the right things are being said.

I agree; it would make the homepage look a bit neater and the new teams section never really worked imo.

If personal best Tetris videos bother you, you're on the wrong website.

The header gave adequate warning that it wasn't a leaderboard-shattering video: ""Well I finally got sub 60 seconds my previous high score was 1:03 something so it was quite a jump."

And I don't mean to be jumping on the bandwagon against you, but I also loved the music in it and think the video was well done.

If it's a tetris video, it is entitled to go on harddrop.com. Anyway, sub-30 videos are samey and boring if you ask me, since people generally have technique pretty good at that level, so there's less scope for helping people out.

I was actually hesitating whether or not I should post that video because I know it's nothing compared to what most on this site are capable of.

But I thought that maybe you more experienced players could have a laugh at it and remember the time you were noobs. And maybe someone with worse result than me could learn a new move? It can be very hard for a beginner to keep up with the speed you more skillful players have.

Anyways im sorry you didn't like the video but i hope that maybe others will.

Don't sweat what Xeal says man. Subbing 60 is one of the first milestones, and it requires unusual skill in itself. Keep it up, you might be shocked how fast you'll ascend through the ranks.

You're not doing any less work, nor are you less worthy of recognition, you've just had less time at it than some of us!
