edit: In case my fumen was unclear, you could have fixed that situation with a tspin single.

I also watched the Alexsweden video and he does a twist move at the start of his setups - why does he do this?  What difference does that make?
Which of my videos?, I use it in all my videos but I also have a few where I explain how to do it and why. See my channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/AlexTelon?feature=mhee

But basically It is becouse if you learn it you can use it in almost any situation.se the video I link to below for a showcase of this.

Hey guys,

I was playing today and came up with this situation.....

[!--ImageUrlBegin--][a href=\\\"http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/8894/tetrisnice.jpg\\\" target=\\\"_new\\\"][!--ImageUrlEBegin--][img width=\\\"400\\\" class=\\\"attach\\\" src=\\\"http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/8894/tetrisnice.jpg\\\" border=\\\'0\\\' alt=\\\"IPB Image\\\" /][!--ImageUrlEnd--][/a][!--ImageUrlEEnd--]

Where can you go with this one?
At the start of the video you will see that very situation but how I put the pieces differently.

You will see that this is what caffeine was talking about in his post above, use two (always only 2) T pieces at the start for building up your leftside stack.

I have a video of me getting my highscore on tetris zone, but I took it down, I could upload it again if you want to see it. (it is different from the others videos since the game has less previews and is just much slower in gameplay)

Sorry for just giving answers involving my videos, but I honestly believe that once you have read flamewheels guide you don't need to read much more text. Just practice and If you feel it helps watch some videos. I have a few where I explain what I do and why, while others, like my video "ST stacking - Keep it going " is me playing the game. Keep it going is a 7min video of me playing a single game clearing 200lines with ST stacking, look at where I place the different pieces. try to get a feel of which colors should generally be where and maybe why. Once you have figured out the this you can come a long way.

Please tell me if any of my videos are unclear or if you would like to have any new videos seeing me explain something else

pumpupthejam

Alex - I would like to see your Tetris Zone highscores.  If you didn't want to upload them to youtube you could upload them to Mediafire and PM me the link or something like that.

Thanks, Alex.  I will download your Youtube video and I can watch it in slowmotion on VLC player to learn from it.  I play as Bingefeller on Tetris Zone.

BTW - Does anyone know how to download Tetris Zone videos using Tetris zone?  I'm using the Mac version...

I think I'm getting the hang of it:

Looking better, right, guys?

Alexsweden

Much better, though try to get more green and orange in the middle, it much easier to play that way

Agreed because you are pretty stuck with the next orange piece...

At the very bottom when you are just starting your stack it's the hardest to follow that rule, but once you get it going, you are going to need it for consistency.

Making the notches to the right with the Os is very tempting because they are the easiest to visualize, but you will get more harmony with them mostly on the left. That being said, I have been practicing this myself and I almost completely make the notches with the Os lol. But seeing AlexSweden and Caffeine testify to Flamewheel's color-coding guidelines is enough for me to try and correct that.

Very true! - good that you pointed that out. Try to use your O, I and J pieces on the left side only. (that is the yellow, dark and light blue pieces). But ofcource use your I pices for tetrises when you need to as well
But sometimes you will have to place other pieces on the left side and that takes some time to getting used to.

Remember a healthy liftside (4 columns) are the most important. If for example you have a piece that you need in two places and one of them is on the left side and the other being somewhere else - rule of thumb - always put it to the left. It is of vital importance that your left side is healthy as it is your buffer where to throw "bad" pieces.

Going to bed soon, if it was unclear I can explain some more tomorrow

I think it's actually the opening that's the single most important part.  If you don't get it right, it can really through your whole game off.

True, if you mess up the start your in trubble

pumpupthejam

Well I'm getting the hang of it for sure.  I'm at number 51 in the Ultra leaderboard for today.  Well, I'll probably have dropped out by the time you read this message

Grats on the hard work and the high score pumpkin.

You should try infinite tspin triples and see how the score compares. I gave it a shot last night and made it through the whole sequence in a multiplayer environment (coming from someone who can barely ZT stack 4 spins in a row).

A video of it Blink put in my intro post from the person who invented the technique:

Welcome to HD!  massi4h just posted this 34 T-Spin triple start yesterday, you might enjoy it:

If anyone else has comments about the potential of this vs ZT stacking I'd like to hear it.

Nice to see both of you improve

I have used that one too on for example marathon mode in Tetris Battle (facebook) which is kinda like survival on tetrisfriends. Anyway - i managed to do 7 or 9 levels of it but once the pieces start to fall quicker it is imposible to sustain. In that video you see that he uses 0 gravity which sometimes really is needed. So there is a gain in using it - it does generate more points per line. BUT as I said you cant use it for too long in most games and so the gain is actually quite small as you get very little points at the lower levels compared to the higher ones. Also its much harder to pull of...

Interesting to hear you say that. But it might just be harder for you to pull off since you specialize in ZT stacking and are probably the best in the world at that technique (please spare me the counterexamples on that one)

But I still wonder if it would be harder for the typical top player who hasn't put as much effort into ZT stacking (ideally an equal effort into both).
