the game keeps crashing on me. if someone doesn't post a solution in the next 12 hours then I am never giving the game another chance again. I'm on vista with a 32-bit OS.

If this is when you start the game, mouse-mashing the black window usually works for me.

Other than that I have no idea.

Your problem is probably going to be your onboard graphics chipset. You should try updating the drivers anyway, but from what I remember Intel's onboard graphics are notorious for not playing nice.

or play swing version, that one do not use 3d acceleration.
