Hmm...

I'd join but considering that there's 12 players so far and they all have speeds under 1 minute. I'm not expecting to get far at all.

KeroKai - 1:15 (Moar like 1:23 realistically)

Doesn't matter. The more the better, regardless of how fast they are.

EDIT: Is it best just to seperate players into groups based solely on their 40L speed, or should there be an element of randomisation as well?

It'd be great if you could. It's the taking part that counts, and I need more players.

We've done 1 day of signups and there are 17 players- I say we can get 32!

I count sixteen. :S Are you counting chopin? Either way, I do agree that we can get more. I'm just wondering if it would be easier if there was one less round... Still, hopefully we'll get 32.

You won't necessarily be last seed; all the players will be seperated into groups of eight based on their Sprint times, and then those groups of eight will be split into two using a random number generator.

But I don't think this is how they seeded the world cup-

"The FIFA Organising Committee approved the procedure for the Final Draw on 2 December 2009. The seeding was based on the October 2009 FIFA World Ranking and seven squads joined hosts South Africa as seeded teams for the final draw. No two teams from the same confederation were to be drawn in the same group, except allowing a maximum of two European teams in a group.[43]
Pot 1 (Seeds: host & top seven):
South Africa, Brazil, Spain, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Argentina, England.
Pot 2 (Asia, North/Central America and Caribbean & Oceania):
Australia, Japan, Korea DPR, Korea Republic, Honduras, Mexico, United States, New Zealand.
Pot 3 (Africa & South America):
Algeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay.
Pot 4 (Europe):
Denmark, France, Greece, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland.
The group draw was staged in Cape Town, South Africa, on 4 December 2009 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.[44] The ceremony was presented by South African actress Charlize Theron, assisted by FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke.[45] The balls were drawn by English football star David Beckham and African sporting figures Haile Gebrselassie, John Smit, Makhaya Ntini, Matthew Booth and Simphiwe Dludlu.[46]"

So only the pots are based on sprint times, not the groups-these are based on random draws.

Edit: You said groups of 8- but these will be split into 2 randomly- so you could have a group of 8 being 1,5,9,13,17,21,25,29 for argument's sake. But the final groups could be 1,5,9,13 and 17,21,25,29

This doesn't seem to be how the world cup is seeded

Right. I'm not too knowledgable about the drawing process I'm afraid. :/ So I sepearate the players into four groups based on their Sprint times... then each Group has one player from each pot? Is that right?

EDIT: According to Wikipedia, only the first pot used ranking; the others were Geographical. Should I just use Sprint time for all of them?

yeah may as well, and then get one player from each pot using a random basis.

Cool cool. What room settings do people like? I'm not gold on arena; I hardly play it.
