Here are some pictures that were linked to me from a Japanese player on skype.  They're different than the pictures from a few weeks ago posted in the News on the main page.  Thought I'd share it with you guys, I'm not really into TGM but maybe someone who is will appreciate them.

I like how these guys seem to have completely missed the no cameras sign. =] That one guy even has a camera sitting in front of him in plain view!

GoldPlatedDish

Do prior TGM cabinets look like this? Neat design

@ caffeine:   He wanted to play so bad, he forgot to look at the no camera sign

It looks like a significant departure in graphical style from previous TGM series games:
  • Less scary, more Hawaiian.
  • Less "hardcore" font for HOLD and NEXT, more MS Mincho (generic monospace serif).
Will be this when "TGM went pussy" among hardcore players?

Given that it has move-reset ARS I'm guessing it will be.

Move reset and ARS cannot coexist
One's existence in a Tetris game cancels the other out
TGM4 is breaking this universal law

Rosti_LFC

TGM-ACE broke the law first actually.

As far as I know, those are standard Blast City with TGM4 marquee.

As colour_thief wrote in the other forum,
[!--quoteo--][div class=\\\'quotetop\\\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\\\'quotemain\\\'][!--quotec--] You guys realise move reset means ARE could drop waaaay down and still be playable right? It could completely open up high speed 20G limits.[/quote]
I have faith on Mihara on not screwing this title.

This game "went pussy" regardless of move-reset. Just look at the flowers and rainbows from blink's news post.

iphys

Yeah, I totally don't get the flowers.  I can't imagine a lot of guys would want to be caught dead standing in front of one of these machines unless they're very secure of themselves.

Apparently you haven't heard of Beatmania IIDX 16: Empress. TGM4 is several orders of magnitude less pinku than Empress, but no one stopped playing it, obviously.

EDIT: It is probably worth mentioning Pop'n Music as well. That game is at a similar level of cutesy ridiculous. That doesn't make it any less hardcore. B)

Real Men love flowers.
PINK flowers =)

For a 2D tetris model, that looks pretty damn fine. Has anybody had a good go on it yet?

So far, the only people that have played it would be playtesters and people that got a chance to try the demo at AM09. Aside from those people, no one really knows how tough it is. We'll just have to wait until some gameplay videos surface.

If you're interested, though, Mihara made a blog post about the best records made at AM09. Here is the info from that post:
Master: World (SRS): ~39 million points; Classic (ARS): Level 900
Rounds (the Death/Shirase successor): World: Level 1522; Classic: Level 1488
Konoha (Big mode centered around getting All Clears): Classic: Level 841

My two cents:
Master: I guess it's still a quest for level 999
Rounds: What a weird name, will it be a quest for level 9999?
Konoha: What a weird idea, to name a TGM mode after the Naruto village
