Did anybody else check out Amagami SS solely because of the Tetris tie-in?

Wojtek

I will check it because those girls looked cute.

Here's everything I've watched.

It's extremely hard to make get a 10 rating from me. For this season, Amagami SS seems pretty good as does Ookami-san and High School of the Dead.

Series I really enjoyed were: Baccano, Claymore, Garden of Sinners and Monster.

I am currently watching Berserk.

Could anyone recommend me something awesome that resembles Claymore, please?

I avoided this thread because I thought "oh no, this is gonna be all about Naruto and Bleach"... then I read the OP, ha. I guess I can participate after all!

It looks like it'd be a pain in the a** to set up one of those myanimelist things, but it might be worth it to keep tabs on what I've forgotten to watch anymore.

I haven't been watching anything, but I want to, just haven't found anything to get into. It seems like everyone is plugging Gurren Lagan, but I didn't get into it. I'm told you have to watch more episodes than the first three, though, so I think I'll do that...

Jesus, that's a lot more than I thought it was.

I listed a lot as dropped, but that really means "downloaded, but didn't watch" or "started watching, but didn't finish" (usually not for any reason to do with the show itself), or "didn't hold my interest"... most of these I don't remember much about so I didn't bother to distinguish. Most of them I more or less plan to watch more of at some point.

I think I'll save the manga for another day...

;( I haven't watched any animes lately.. since I've been saving up the Naruto episodes for an epic marathon ~ butttt I was thinking about going back and watching the Gundam series again

Personally I really liked Gurren Lagann, but I know people who don't. I'm just not a fan of mecha anime in general, so that fact that it was frequently a parody of how stupid mecha series can be was something I enjoyed quite a bit

Necro-thread revival!

Recently finished a whole bunch of shows:

Baka to Test - Pretty funny, quite lulzy. I think I might have preferred it if they'd kept the battle element a bit more prominent (like in the first ep or two, and the last few) but it was still a pretty good show. The humour is pretty standard immature anime humour, but the OTT nature of the characters and the setting makes it pretty good overall.

Working!! - I passed on subbing this series originally because I thought it looked pretty meh and fairly standard slice-of-life, but it's actually really funny. Fairly similar sort of humour to Minami-ke.

Rurouni Kenshin + OVA series - The main anime series was pretty awesome aside from most of the filler episodes. The main arc is really good, and the OVAs were superb. Fantastic storyline and depth for the OVAs especially - they felt far more grown-up than the main series did.

Ookiku Furikabutte - I'd say the best show I've watched in a while. I probably would still go for Hajime no Ippo as my favourite sports series, but this is definitely close. Both series are good, the baseball is really detailed and well done, and I really like the character development in it. It's also pretty good for frequently breaking the formula of the protagonist looking like they're about to lose and then pulling out a magical bullshit comeback right at the death - instead there's an element of realism to the matches, but it still keeps them exciting.

Mushishi - quite a good series, but it took me ages to finish it. Each episode is quite nice, and I like the style and premise of everything, but because it's really episodic I didn't feel there was much incentive for me to watch the next episode when I'd just finished one. Quite good, but I think I'd have preferred it if there was a continuous storyline because it's a bit slow otherwise.

Currently also in the middle of Cross Game (which is really awesome, though the first episode is massively wtf), Kimi ni Todoke (really fantastic series of bubbles and sparkles - easily my favourite show I've done subs for) as well as a bunch of other series I can't be bothered commenting on. I've just started Monster, which I've heard tons of good stuff about, but I'm only three episodes in so I don't really feel I can comment much on it yet. It at least seems pretty promising so far.

Pikiwedia

Whoa, some of you guys have really watched alot :O Impressive!

My list is pretty (very) short:

Seen:

Cowboy Bebop
Death Note
Neon Genesis Evangelion

Watching:

Ergo Proxy

Plan to watch:

Trigun
Wolfs Rain
Elfen Lied *downloading now*

Other than that, I've seen some movies too, as Howl's moving castle, Spirited away, and the likes ^^

Monster and Mushishi are my go-to series when anyone asks me for anime recommendations.

Cross Game and Kimi ni Todoke are wonderful. I was very sad when they both ended at the same time. But! Season 2 of Kimi ni Todoke just started, and it's looking great so far.

I'll have to check out Ookiku Furikabutte some time. Maybe when I'm finally finished watching every Precure series.

I'm not quite sure why Elfen Lied always seems to end up being an anime most people watch early on - it's not that good. IMO it's mostly just a load of random nudity, violence and crying. It's not so bad that I would say it's not worth watching, but there's definitely better shows out there.

For someone who hasn't seen many series I'd probably recommend FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood as something to watch. It's definitely up there with Death Note and Cowboy Bebop for an accessible series that's also extremely good.

Also lol have fun watching all of Precure Caithness  There's a new series airing this season too.
