ur ti scores make no sense. if u can get s2 in sudden ti u can get like s5 or s6+ in special Ti.

QuoteLike many setups here, it is useful if your opponent doesn't move and you get 4 Ts in a row.

I'm not posting here until I sub-30 for 40L. Which will take AGES.

POTM submissions for January is now closed - I will make a poll thread soon.

We do not forgive. We do not forget.

Profane

woot woot.  went from 34.73 and just crushed my record with 33.28 in one game.  woot woot.

Confugal

971 on Special TI (600-700 yesterday), but it didn't even give me a S1 because I played so damned slow. Only a 2, haha.

Bugger.

I've never gotten past 700 because i get all the Cool's and then its too fast and i die. Well i got to 980 once, when i intentionally softdropped every piece. Tahts when i found out that the speed increases based on cools T_T.

Dont u get +10 ranks for finishing game? i.e. play game slow, get S1 but pass it so it becomes M1? :O

I'm pretty sure my rank will jump from like s7 ish to m6 or m7, since i'm basically just dying isntantly at the speedcap, and once i get it i'll pass the game and be a happy chappy.

No. The Cools are added when the game ends, successfully or otherwise. If you get 9 Cools, you get +9. If you get no Cools, you get zip.

I did have cools that game, but I had a damned lot of regrets too (guess they cancelled out). I had no clue getting more cools sped up the play. So much to learn!

what do u get if u get 0 cools and pass the game (0 regrets)

It's based off tetris'es too right?

Cant remember the formula.

basically i'm wondering if i can play super slow, pass the game and then get an m-rank.

Yeah, a Cool skips an entire section of the speedcurve. 0-999 defaults to TGM2's speedcurve, but the Cools launch you into the TGM3 specific speed levels. The time for getting at least one Cool is fairly lenient and there is no way to rank down on the speedcurve, so TGM3's Master is much less beginner-friendly than the previous games and there isn't really anything in the game bridging the gap between Easy and Master...

It breaks down like this:
+TAP Grading (max S9)
+Cools - Regrets (out of 9 possible each)
+Credit Roll Bonus

Ti plays a lot faster so it may be possible to preempt some of the traditional scoring walls, but here is how it works in TAP: solid 0-500 all but guarantees a grade of 1, sufficient tetrises or triples by 750 should earn at least S4, and (assuming the previous) every two tetrises after 750 earns one grade. (This is an abstraction of the actual underlying system, but there is always the wiki if you really want the nitty gritty, haha.)

So let's say you figure out how to both max out your TAP grade as well as avoid any and all Cool/Regret grading. Going into the fading roll with S9, only one grade stands between you and m1. Given the fading roll grade formula, this breaks down to either a) 25 normal line clears and fail, b) 13 normal line clears and survive, c) 4 tetrises and fail, d) 2 tetrises and survive, or any other mish-mash of things that add up to at least 1.0 given the chart on the wiki.

Now, if you wanted to avoid all Cools and then get a Capital M for Master rank, we would talking about some TAS-level impossibility. You can make up for missing a couple and still reasonably get M or a bit higher, though.
