New team Gameplay idea

I like the idea,but their is one particular problem concerning it.

This type of team games is all about speed. The player that clears lines faster than his opponent counterpart on the other team will take the match.

Take Maserati for example. If he is having a minimum amount of garbage send to him, there is pretty much nothing that can slower him down and considering the fact that he is the fastest player in the world, that makes him practically unbeatable, no matter who is his teammate  is.(unless he/she plays tetris for a first time). That being said, I don't think this type of play can be considered a team game, since one of the players can decide the game on his own.
