Tetris / NullpoMino Art Mod
December 21, 2015, 05:01:11 PM
Sorry for the bump, but is it alright if I ask if it'd be possible to make a version of this game that works on Macs?
I've wanted a Pentomino game that supports more than the basic 7/9 colors for eons.

Tetris / Worst Tetris Game?

is any controller worse than this one? but somehow, i would still rather play this than Tetris Battle
Oh my god, I have that exact same controller, thought it's broken.

I at least give credit to them for having the different modes from Tetris Worlds.

Tetris / Worst Tetris Game?
February 22, 2015, 01:50:46 PM
I'm not exactly fond of most early Tetris games, especially ones without twists and wall kicks outside of T's, even though I can still play them well. On the other hand, games with really awkward controls or lack of soft dropping take the cake, especially the Famicom Tetris from BPS, which has no soft drop. I've also heard the C64 Tetris is pretty bland as well aside from it's music.

The Korean arcade game Final Tetris also receives an honorable mention for it's somewhat slippery control when shifting a piece over.

I should have noted earlier that the skins are now in Dropbox; which means I can update the skin pack without changing the link. Therefore the first post's link will always lead to the most recent version of the skin pack.

Anyways here's four more skins:

#67: Pokémon Tetris (Pokemon mini)
#68: Super Bombliss DX (GBC)
#69: The Next Tetris (PSX)-inspired blocks
#70: FA Tetris

Speaking of TGM in Nullpomino, which rule set would I have to select if I want to play with TGM physics/rotation outside of Mania modes?

Classic 1=tgm
CLassic 2=TAP
Classic 3=TGM3 Classic rotation
classic 0=sega tetris.
Thank you so much. Somehow I don't get why they weren't called "Mania 0 - Mania 3".

Oh, I see.
Anyways V3 of the skin pack is now live; you can grab it at this link.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/pv6i662fw50hbrh/blockskin.zip?dl=0

Added skins:
#54: Ponon! Deluxe (iOS)
#55: Tetris (iPad, older version)
#56: Mockatetris (ZX Spectrum)
#57: Tetris Heaven (Flash)
#58: Magical Tetris Challenge (Game Boy Color)
#59: ZX Spectrum-styled indented blocks (ZX Spectrum)

The NES skin ( #8 ) was also altered a bit to make it's palette consistent with the other block skins based on NES games (in this case it was changed to NEStopia's palette).

Also, here's a preview of skin #59 in action:

Tetris / SJB's NullpoMino Skins

a small suggestion is not to let all "bone blocks" green and inverted-ish edge... since most of them are originated from even more "classic" versions, aren't they?

also another Famicom version to add, tengen tetris (skin like atari arcade but the color scheme is different, which has light orange, olive and pink).

For future skins I'll do that; I feel like it's kinda pointless to do that with some of the older skins that I very likely may not use often. But maybe if I have the motivation I'll add the Electronica 60-styled "Final" blocks in the other skins instead of the inverted green designs. If you want to add them yourself and send me the modified versions; that can be done.

Also I have no intent on doing Tengen NES's mino skin, since it's virtually identical to the arcade version except colored differently.

I'm also interested in getting the rule files you provided, but it doesn't seem to show the additional rule(s) in-game even when I add them to the "config > rule" folder. Do I have to do something else to get the game to recognize the existence of added modes?

nice collection and thanks for sharing!
i'm also collecting some skins in other less known block games.

btw the _MACOSX folder in the zip is taking more than half of the file size......

Big thanks. Since the thread went on for a few days before your reply I thought for a sec I'd never get a reply. As for the DS Store files, I'm sorry. That's sadly something I can't really do anything about.

Anyways here's build #2 of the set; adds a few more skins and also fixes up skin #28 so the blocks used on the seven pieces match the GBC version word-for-word (so the I block tiles are used for that block only and not the L pieces).

The new skins:

#49: Tetris (Macintosh)
#50: Tetris 2 (Game Boy - B&W)
#51: Tetris 2 (Game Boy - Color/SGB mode)
#52: Tetris (Commodore 64, 576 KByte version)
#53: Tetris Plus (Arcade)

Tetris / Tetris GB, DX randomizers
January 27, 2015, 06:45:56 PM
I tried out Tetris DX for a few minutes to see if this analysis was true.
I did notice that the game was sending T's more often than the other pieces.

But hey, they must've known that people really didn't like S's and Z's so they gave more T's to hope people don't top out from too many S's and Z's. Or at least that's how I think it went.

*If you already have any skins numbered 29 and up, you must rename them, since NullpoMino does not accept skins with the same ID number.
*You cannot have any ID numbers skipped.
