- Community Tournament Organizing Server Opens
Following an hour of hard thinking, clicking, typing, dragging, and getting distracted, I sat back and let out a deep sigh, thinking I had finally finished setting up the Modern Tetris Tournament Organizing server. All that I needed to do next was figure out a way for TOs to claim dates on a calendar that did not involve jed manually editing them into a message every time he was pinged. *It’ll be fine*, or so I thought.
A while later, my wooden desk let out a loud *thump* as my forehead slammed solidly into it. Moose had suggested that we add “d”is”c”al, a bot supposedly perfectly suited for our needs, and I unfortunately had decided to test it out myself. I soon learned that, in order to properly add an event to our calendar, 5 unspecified commands in an exact unspecified order were necessary. Within a half hour, I had lost most of my remaining sanity and simultaneously convinced myself of my tech illiteracy and inadequacy.
Edge was the first person to respond to my grievances. He posted one short link, which I immediately clicked on. A few seconds later, [Modern Tetris Organizing > #welcome] lit up with a new unread message.
Glad you’re here, sesh.
With shaky hands, I typed in a command. And another. And saw the server’s first logged event added perfectly to the calendar.
I blinked away tears as Edge hit enter on his keyboard. “merry christmas” he said.
