MMC Weekly #90

This isn’t flavor text this time, but an official announcement. It’s been far too long since I began dreading Sunday night, and I’ve decided I will be stepping down from being the writer of MMC News following the 100th issue. For weeks, maybe months, writing this has felt more and more like a chore, and less like the fun side project that it began as. Burnout is hitting hard, no less exacerbated by my diminishing interest in Tetris, and the ashes are piling up high. Nearly two years have elapsed, things have changed, and I no longer feel the passion to continue. Au revoir, and thank you for your time. -bennxt :KeqingSleep:

• Fucidin continues to impress with another PPT sprint record, this time being the 40L WR in PPT1! While there was one midgame PC which certainly helped lower the time due to PCs having no line clear delay, the 30.33 second sprint did not end with a PC, showing room for further optimization and improvement!

• On the other hand, Vince_HD breaks his own 40L PC end WR with a satisfyingly fluid 15.358 second Jstris sprint!

• Tsuki Open results :

1st: OSW

2nd: Krome

3rd: Void

Overall the lack of a 4wide ban had little impact on the tournament run. People used 4wides but they did not seem to present an advantage, let alone a significant advantage. Might be the end of the era of 4wide banning through what we've seen with the latest WPL open as well. Future Tsuki Open events will be held without the ban for further testing.
