- Community Leaders Collaborate On April Fools Pranks
April Fools is every online community leader’s favorite holiday, myself included. It’s a great time to poke some fun and bring people together with some harmless laughter. This year, the Tetris community didn’t hold back, and many were bamboozled by the barrage of confusion unleashed over the course of roughly two days.
Zoner Battlers quickly became one of the most ambitious Tetris community collaborations of all time since its conception 3 weeks ago. An invitational tournament hosted by Tatoes, leaders from over 10 Tetris communities came together to play TETR.IO on TE:C settings. The event was streamed on Puzzle Kingdom to over 100 concurrent viewers, and commentated by the community leaders together in a Discord call. Tatoes emerged as the winner of the randomly seeded bracket, becoming the zoner battlest of them all.
To celebrate every Asian’s love for food, Pokedialga converted Thinking Tetris into UberEats. Dozens of members followed the admins’ examples and became their favorite food for a day, while others masqueraded as Karen and demanded to see the manager.
I decided to work with Caboozled_Pie again, and we swapped our personal profiles as well as MMC and UC. One particular user was so confused that they asked whether Underdogs Cup was a real event or just an invention for April Fools…
The Collegiate Tetris League fully embraced the Terraria trend, replacing the logo with a Terraria-themed one photoshopped by yours truly, while ploo overhauled the stream to feature a Terraria theme for the semifinal match.
Although many discord servers arranged to play their members, placetris was among the few that got played. Having prepared for r/place, recruiting members and forming alliances, it turned out that reddit was carrying out possibly the biggest april fools this year by never hosting r/place!
Finally, TETR.IO quickplay featured a brand new unique gamemode again. If you can explain how it works, tell us about it because we have absolutely no clue!

TAWS is collaborating with the Old Scona Academic to produce a TETR.IO tournament event with charity donations being raised for the Old Scona 'Ignite-a-thon' fundraiser event charity Medicans Sans Frontiers (Doctors Without Borders)!
