- TETR.IO to be Featured at Major Speedrunning Event
The stacker game TETR.IO is set to be on stream during ESA Winter 2023, a week-long speedrunning convention hosted in Malmö, Sweden. Organised by ESA, the European Speedrunning Association, the event features fundraising for Azlzhiemerfonden, a Swedish charity funding treatment and research for dementia.
Following the successes of the North American Tetris LANs, such as those hosted by Team TSD and Puzzle Kingdom, mat1jaczyyy wanted to hold a similar event in Europe. Over time the idea evolved, and ultimately an application to ESA Winter 2023 was submitted after recruiting world-class players willing to take part in the showcase.
Starting at 22:11 on February 21st (UTC+1) the TETR.IO portion of the stream is scheduled to run for more than an hour. Present will be mat1jaczyyy on commentary, and players Kelvin, yours truly, mystery and z2sam playing 40L, Blitz and versus respectively. You can tune into the stream here:

- Final Square One 2023 Qualifier
Puzzle Kingdom is once again hosting the Square One Tetris Championship and qualifiers have begun since two weeks ago. Played in two stages — a qualifier and a final — this Tetris Effect: Connected tournament is likely to be among the largest tournaments held this year.
The final will feature a starting field of 32 players, consisting of 29 select players who received a personal invitation and the winners of each of the three qualifying tournaments held by PuyoGB, Beyond The Stars and Full Throttle. So far, Sionara and cmdingo have qualified from the PuyoGB and Beyond The Stars qualifiers held on the 4th and 11th of February respectively.
