Hello HD. Been looking to buy a TGM cabinet for months, and decided to ask here if someone on here is willing to sell one. I will pay up to about 1100 (anything more, I will do if we could work a payment plan. Please comment or PM if anyone is able to work out a deal.
This is a signature... enjoy.

You might have a better chance of buying a used TGM cabinet at http://tetrisconcept.net/

Look up sophia corp. Also, your best bet is to ask around at tetrisconcept.net:

I recommend learning katakana so you can look for tetris in the catalogue -

HOLY CRAP THEY DONT HAVE TGM3 ANYMORE

QuoteLike many setups here, it is useful if your opponent doesn't move and you get 4 Ts in a row.

For reference, TGM3 is not a game you buy as a dedicated cabinet; dedicabs are more the sort of thing you see for stuff from the 80's "classics" era (before wiring standards were introduced) or games that require specialized controls (i.e., racing, music, lightgun, 4P beat 'em up, etc.). Most games from the JAMMA/JVS eras are sold as a kit -- the cabinets follow the same wiring standards, so they needed to provide was the hardware and an art set (marquee, instruction strip, etc.).

Depending on availability and pricing, a TGM3 kit alone will likely run you most of your budget. The software alone (hard drive + USB security key) tends to run upwards of $400. The hardware (Taito Type X, a PC-based hardware) will probably run you another $150. If your cabinet is JAMMA (or you're using a supergun/"console-ized" setup), you'll need a JVS I/O to connect video/audio/controls, which is probably another $100.

If you want to get a decent Japanese-style cabinet after that, you're likely looking at least another $500~600 for an Astro City or something. If you don't explicitly need a full cabinet, you could look into buying or assembling a supergun to run it on a TV or the like. However, you can sidestep needing a video encoder or line doubler, as the Taito Type X outputs both video signals for "low res"/15k and "high res"/31k arcade monitors; the latter can be used with a standard PC monitor. So, if all you care about playing for the time being is TGM3, technically you can get by with just JAMMA wiring to controls and a power supply connected to the JVS I/O. Either way, if you want to get in the business of putting together a "console-ized" setup like this, it's probably a good idea to check out the Hardware subforum on TC -- there have been a couple of threads about it there lately that you could refer to or ask questions in.

Check back on the Sophia Corp/Tops Game stocklist periodically. If it's not on the list right now, it just means they don't have it in stock at the moment. It'll come up again every now and again. Perhaps you could also try just sending an inquiry on Sophia Corp anyway and see if they can source a kit for you.
