Are you a PAL NES Tetris player? Or do you just like to have fun? Then come to Denmark for The Classic Tetris European Championship! (Thanks to Sisu for posting the earlier update in the DM in Tetris thread)

More info and official website are on it's way!

It is now official. The team behind "DM i TETRIS" will take on the challenge and host the Classic Tetris European Championship (CTEC).

We've been asked and inspired by people all over Europe, after displaying pictures from the first event in 2014. Soon there will be an official team and we will be able to announce dates, rules, systems, location and more. So far, the plans are to dedicate a weekend to Tetris where Friday is the Danish Championship and Saturday is the European one. We will be surrounded by games and fun, so people outside Danmark (who can not compete that current Friday) is still gaming, socializing and having a kick ass time.

We will hold the Danish Championship (amongst other events) during the Friday and compete in the Classic Tetris European Championship, Saturday. We will follow the official rules (from CTWC) and allow everyone from all over the world to come and compete. However, at the The Classic Tetris European Championship we will be playing on NES PAL systems. There will be more details about, schedule, sponsors, tickets and competitions on other platforms soon.

Thank you, please spread the word and I hope to see a lot of you there!

BIG thanks to Alexsweden for doing some commentary! That stuff was so good! In general we've got so much help from the Tetris community all over, helping out and sponsoring (thanks Hard Drop!) - we sure appreciate it!

Congrats to Linus for #1 in Game Boy, and to Terry for #1 in SNES! See you guys tomorrow!

I was riding home from Florida to NC all day today and the Tetris championship was really entertaining to watch. Big Congrats to acidb0y I may have played with him on Cultris before but I first remember him as being a mod on tnet2.

I'm really glad I attended the event, it was really fun and nice to see some tetris people irl. Hope it returns again next year! And I may have to switch my arcade practice for NES until then.. never knew NES tetris could be so much fun to spectate, so many exciting moments.

Next time I'm going to be in the top 16 for sure.. My score qualified at like #17 or #18 so I didn't quite make it. But I still had a blast!
