Polaris did you use the lighting finisher thingy?

Haven't had the chance to use that yet. I got a inverse item which makes all the empty space into blocks. I also got about 850,000 before the game finished and that was used. I feel the time item is essential, I also used the quake and  multiplier. My strat was to spam Tetris' to get a high enough combo for the finisher to be really effective. I chose the quake so I could get massive cascades whilst spamming Tetris'. Hope this information is useful!

Multiplier spam is the key to scoring. i broke 800k, but it was with mino rain finisher, and then the leaderboard got reset.

With that in mind, the proper powerups are

a) mino rain finisher.
b) multiplier (you have to buy it repeatedly as powerup of the week to unlock for normal play)
c) time shift (more time to get multipliers. duh)
d) Magnet (this turns the frenzy garbage into a tetris hole. so it gives you more multipliers.

Don't bother going for cascades until the last 20 seconds or so. much better just to use magnet to turn the frenzy garbage into a tetris.  Single cascade lines score very little, and the timer keeps ticking. Much better to get larger line clears. That said, tetrises during frenzy are worthwhile. You can pull this one off with the magnet powerup. After you take the tetris, simply stack back up for another one, and rely on more magnets to handle the leftover frenzy garbage.

I like to compare the use of items in Tetris with the use of firecrackers in the board game Chess.
Chess with firecrackers is no longer chess. Tetris with items is no longer Tetris.
