From the facebook page:

"Hey Paul,

Unfortunately, all future development of Tetris Battle Arena has been put on hold. If there were to be a tournament, it would be held on Tetrisfriends.com"

We already know all development of Tetris Friends Arena has been ceased. That means Tetris Online aren't working on any new multiplayer games for the PC. If that's not Tetris Online trying to persuade people to play Nullpomino, I don't know what is!

OxJeep, or anyone else of relevance regarding this matter, would you mind further elaborating on this current issue? First off, what are all the Tetris games licensed by Tetris Online? What were their most recent updates, and how frequent/productive are these updates? And how can we assume that the vast majority of amateur players who currently play Arena are even aware of this Nullpomino alternative, as you imply?

It's an ambitious concept, Paul, but with further elaboration perhaps I may follow your reasoning.

UNGH.

YEAH.

THIS.

I only picked nullpo because it's the game most similar to the games licensed by Tetris Online. Logic works for Cultris too

A Lamborghini is very similar to a mule in that they both serve as methods of transportation and kick-ass, but just because they are similar in nature does not necessarily imply the starving child in Africa is aware of this Lamb-Or-Ginny you speak of.

Though yes, I really do hope the general public becomes informed of these truly amazing home-brew clients. Especially C2, but I'm glad it has a very active online community, relatively speaking.

ew tetris friends.
i'd play nullpomino more if i saw more people on it.

no offense to the c2 fans.. lol while i'm a fan i would not want to play a big tournament on c2. it's always dc-ing for me. >:/

and also technically Tetris Online does not hold tournaments themselves right? it's usually HD sponsored by TF. ..... but blink runs the tournaments.

We do not forgive. We do not forget.

Interesting point. HD does indeed play a huge significant role in the Tetris world, and perhaps assists more in developing players than Tetris Online itself.

Which is why I believe Tetris Online should officially advertise and endorse Harddrop. I am unaware if this is already the case, but if it is, more publicity must be initiated. By first expanding the spread of Harddrop, newcomers will naturally become informed of the copious wealth of information HD has to offer, thus developing their progress as a player, thus increasing their overall enjoyment and committment to this field, thus inspiring them to relay on this precious knowledge and share this news with their peers, and so on.

A chain reaction so to speak. But I do believe this initial ignition must begin with Harddrop, the passionate and dedicated community.

no bc if they endorse HD then we can't talk about the unofficial games

To me, that merely indicates that they are not yet willing to pull the trigger with TB arena yet. It likely means they have another upcoming multiplayer game they'd rather direct sales towards (*cough*Tetris Blitz).

What Paradox said. It took a while but I have now lost all faith in Tetris Online.

All the people who say they'd play NullpoMino if more people were on NullpoMino are the problem with NullpoMino.
