It's actually very simple.
1)Learn 2-step finesse (even though I made 15 errors in video, learning finesse helps a lot)
2)If you play any other competitive games besides Tetris - drop them. (Could be hard for some.)
3)Read all of this. (Or at least belzbub's Sprint Guide, which is very helpful)
4)Keep a healthy life-style (don't drink alcohol or smoke)
5)Play as many Tetris games and gamemodes as you can (Cultris 2, NullpoMino, Blockbox, etc.)
Multiplayer and Survivor modes also help with 40Lines.
6)Make 40 Line Race mode a regular habit (f. ex. when you procrastinate or think about something, you can play 40 lines)
