The game will be Grademania 3 on Nullpomino with world rotation (SRS)

The objective of the game is simple: to achieve as high a grade as possible. If multiple people have the same grade, then the time will be the deciding factor.
I have an important question: what is your stance on having exams turned off? With exams turned on, the game mimics the original behavior of TGM3 in the arcades -- that is, it displays games scored internally as Grand Master records as MasterM until enough of these so-called "GM-worthy" games have been played and the Grand Master exam is unlocked. (To be precise, you must be a qualified MasterM player and have 4 of your last 7 games be GM-worthy games in order to actually earn the exam, and then you must pass the exam for your GM games to begin being marked as such.)

Since this is a competition based on the best outcome of single games, it might be a good idea to have everyone configure their games such that games with GM-worthy invisible performances are not hidden if they are not fully qualified. Otherwise, two players with excellent invisible performances may be ranked differently on account of their dedication to the mode before the start of the event.

Also, do you care if we have Grade Disp set On so we can see our current grade during the game rather than wait for the post-game evaluation?

FOOL, KEVINDDR can get GM on this, and is the only player capable of it.
Um no, it's just that no one devotes any time to World. Like, I have these replays with terrible, messy invisible performances from when I was screwing around back in the Nullpomino 6.2 days that are just a few lines short of being GM-worthy.

that's rubbish
Since there is move reset, it's better to hard lock your pieces than it is to wait. The lock delay bars in Blockbox and Texmaster were just non-standard pieces of flair, so it's probably better to get used to them not being there. It may show up in Nullpomino some day down the line, but there are a lot of things that need to be addressed first. (EDIT: In the meantime, I'd make sure to have some TGM-style soundpack installed -- or at least some pack that has all the TGM sounds represented in some fashion. There are gobs of audible cues that help with pacing.)

goofer: I know it says pretty damn clearly in the OP that we have to use SRS, but can players not use ARS if they want to?

Hey rosti, I didn't make it world rotation just to piss people off. I respect ARS players alot. But the main reason is to make this game more popular to the hd community which are for the most part srs players. To allow for ARS would not be my first choice. They are really just two different games and it has advantage when reaching the 20G.
I have talked to kitaru for some advice cuz i'm not dead for suggestions and for me the outcome is to only allow the world rotation for now. Besides I have seen many pretty good srs runs on blockbox from real ARS players

Also:  I have a question.  How come not Expert TI mode!

I choose grade mania three as i explained in my post because it will be accessible to a broad category of  players. TI would have a too fast lock delay and it would discourage many players. In GM3 also less sklilled players can do a pretty good job, also the amount of different grades will be a perfect learning ground for everyone.

Hey paradox, This is not a place to bash ARS rotation and players. Please have respect for them as I have. The reason I make this SRS (world rotation) is not to diss them but for the reasons I gave before.
I even hope many will participate in this event as well. That might bring us closer together!

Exams are turned off is on default in nullpomino. I looked into this and it wouldnt be good as u told me as well to turn in on. so exam will be turned off!

yea Grade Disp can be set on, It won't influence the game and it would be pretty nice to see what grade u are on in the game

By the way, here are some sound packs if you're looking for some TGM-style cues: http://kitaru.1101b.com/Nullpomino/se/

I usually mix-and-match those two since there are some sounds in one and not the other. I tend to use most of the stuff from Termino and then Tepples' stuff for whatever is left.

For anyone who want to use those soundpacks go to the nullpomino folder click on the folder res and then se and replace the . wav's

Fair enough, it was worth a shot

Also Blink, I disagree. I wouldn't want ARS to handicap myself, it's just that training Grade Mania 3 with ARS is something I'm currently aiming to do (infer from that what you will, Kitaru, Kevin, Zircean etc), while playing it with SRS isn't something I'm ever going to care about after this tournament. Prizes will presumably be given to players with the best scores, not the players whose scores are judged to matter more, or show more skill (so SRS players would win anyway), and unless the thread was just going to get filled with smack-talk from ARS players on how their records matter more (which wouldn't happen because none of the good ARS players are like that), I think it's unlikely that it'd pressure SRS players into feeling they need to use ARS to compete properly.

               Tetris Belts!

Kitaru

Oh yeah, I figure this is implied since we're playing on Grade Mania 3, but all Tuning Settings related to DAS should be set to Auto, correct?
