I think you should keep it at the difficulty it is. Maybe remove a time limit and just leave it indefinitely and post a new one once someone solves the current one. It would be dumb to just make it easier because we can't solve it.

If its at this difficulty only people really good at it are going to be participating or giving feedback. For example if it stays at this difficulty I won't participate because I know my attempts are futile.

I do agree that he should stick to posting a new one every time someone solves it. Then maybe I wouldn't mind the difficulty.
