I'm not sure if this went down this week or last week; I was on vacation last week and working all day this week. Sorry I forgot to check in, hope things went well!

Hey, just confirming that I'm planning to run one this week. The plan for this week's theme is BlockBox style! Zero delays, no b2b, no twist bonus, no combos, no countering, no blocking -- just 0/1/2/4, 100% hole change per garbage row!

QuoteLike many setups here, it is useful if your opponent doesn't move and you get 4 Ts in a row.

Kitaru

4 singles = 1 line isn't in BB anymore either way, but no, haha.

I still sometimes see consecutive garbage holes even when change rate is set to 100 in Nullpo.

Kitaru

I've noticed this as well, but I think it is a matter of definition. 100% rate randomizes a new hole every time but isn't strict about where to place it. It is trying to change the hole 100% of the time, though. I've been thinking of going and tweaking that at some point.

As the person who wrote this code, I can say for certain than I am uncertain if it works properly

I notice immediately that I managed to neglect the guaranteed hole-change for garbage-per-attack, even though I set the defaults so that the behavior would remain as it is. The only thing I can think of that would explain two holes in a row in garbage-per-line mode is that I don't seem to be keeping track of where the last hole was when emptying the garbage queue, so the first hole in the next pass can't avoid it. I'm pretty sure I made a variable for this, so I guess it's just double failure on my part.

I will fix these for the next (minor?) release.

Edit: what I am saying is that this is definitely a bug. Change rate should be per-attack and 90% (?) to stay in keeping with older versions of Nullpomino. I think I changed it to 100% by default because that seemed to be the intent if not strictly the behavior that it used. 100% should definitely never repeat holes.

Edit2: what settings are being used when this happens? It seems that it should work fine, except I neglected to put the new hole selection code in place for garbage-per-attack.

I have no idea what causes it, but I've seen Blockbox giving consecutive holes. I think there is a screenshot about it on the Blockbox thread Deniax created. And yes, Blockbox has B2B, its probably not supposed to be there though.

I'm stupid. I read the comments as saying that there were consecutive holes in Nullpo vs.

In custom games on Blockbox I've found that you get holes that line up, it seems to be a bug because I try to set it to 100% change and it still fails. Either way it got me looking at my code and I did spot something I didn't intend, which was the garbage-per-attack behavior not changing properly, so I got something out of it

Beep beep, bumping for today's event! You guys ready for it?

Hey also I updated my rules for 7.3 if you were using them: http://kitaru.1101b.com/NullpoRules/7.3/
