The multiplayer rankings are the weekly rankings that list people with the most Tetrises of the week, most T-Spins, REN, etc.
You can check these anytime on the website, but of course it's Japanese. =x
According to the announcement from TOJ, only people ranked 1st~100th in the ranking for 'numbers of Tetrises during multiplayer' obtain TP.
(See Wojtek's Quote above for exact amounts)
Plus everyone ranked a multiple of 100th (so 200th, 300th and so on) gets 100TP.

Tho' it might be that other multiplayer rankings (i.e. number of T-Spins, REN, highest average APM/LPM etc) are affected too.
This is not stated clearly enough by TOJ.

The 1vs1 Rating and singleplayer-records (i.e. 40-line Timeattack) are no targets for obtaining TP as it seems.

These are the weekly Multiplayer Rankings, you can tab through categories by clicking TETRIS/T-Spin/REN and so on.

Btw, lots of players are complaining about the new system and TOJ support answered they might change this again.
But even if they do, it will probably take some time.
