Hi Guys, this is my first post here and first i want to say hi :-)

i want to improve my tetris skills and i need your help. Please look at my marathon and my sprint skills. My marathon record ist 699.981 (damn, i dont get the 700.000) and my sprint record is 1:42 both on Facebook Tetris.

I think, my technique is very oldschool, so pleas help me....how can i improve my skills?

it's ok to play with joypad. I got 55~ seconds on LJ DS and that was with a joypad.
M4ssi4h got 40s on DS which is insane.

to get to 1:10seconds keep playing. 3 to 4 weeks of consistent play will get u to 1:20 seconds or so.

QuoteLike many setups here, it is useful if your opponent doesn't move and you get 4 Ts in a row.

Here are three games I played on Arena. I won the first two then lost the final one. Please comment on my strategy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9Qr63UQbDM

Tetris Friends Profile I was wondering if anyone had advice to get my sprint time up.

Paul676

you'll get a hell of a lot of time off your sprint if you only stack for tetrises. Like 3 seconds or more off easy. Other than that, I suppose keep playing!

Been stuck in the S4 range for a month. I keep getting close but then out of nowhere comes a regret and misdrops and lots of singles.

As for Death, my heart rate goes way up as soon as I even get close to 300. Afterwards it's so intense I need a short break.

Hey Burbruee, I started working on some comments. I only got through around a section and a half so far, but hopefully they come in handy until I can run through the rest.

First video:
+At level 29, I'd zangi that I-block right there.
I'm not sure why you changed your mind with the T at level 41.
+At level 44, you go with IHS'd J dull/letter-position at two from right. I'd have probably placed the Z sharp at the wall. J sharped would actually be better than my first instinct since it'd leave the channel open after skimming the single.
+Starting at around 72, you get a T-pentomino negative space on the left side. I'm not sure why you left this open for so long. I'd have plugged it with the J at 79. The I right before that would also work if you were so inclined, but the J feels safer. Given what you have in the preview, it also seems like it'd clean up much nicer -- sharp J two from left, O two from left, sharp S at wall, neutral L one from left.
+At 99, I'd say don't take the lines. IRS and drop. I would be much more concerned with cleaning the stack at this point than finishing the section since there is no real threat of a regret (or missing a cool -- first section means no 2 second rule). After plugging that up, you can put the Z somewhere on the right, the J on the left, etc. You end up handling it just fine, but that would probably be my instinct there.
+At 113, I would have followed through with O two away from wall. Using the L to plug the spot you fill with the I ends up being much nicer.
+117 S, go with neutral one from wall. The stack state with the move you chose is too... vertical feeling? The grain of it is sort of odd. If you put that S at neutral one away, you can take the tetris, put the O one away, the J gets a beautiful neutral placement, and the Z can be placed sharped at left wall. It seems like you fumbled the S though, so I'm not sure what placement you originally had in mind and why you decided against it.
+158 J feels like it should be placed at tap left. It is a cleaner input, and I think I like the stack it yields a bit better as well.
+159 T feels like it should be placed with DAS left A. The following Z would then be more at home at DAS left tap back, and the subsequent O would be lined up to be placed at neutral.

Thanks for the comments Kitaru, appreciate it.

I regretted the I at 29 right when I played it, not sure myself why I didn't zangi it there. And I'm not sure myself why I did leave the hole open at 72 either for so long.

@41, I just misread the preview I think.

@44, good point. This is the sort of things I never think about.

@99, I guess I was just concerned with the time and regret, I didn't think of that it was the first section.

@114, not sure why I switched in the I. And @117 I don't know why I rotated the S, under normal circumstances I would have placed it flat.

@158, @159. Yes that would have been better, I didn't even see that.

what's a zangi? oh I think I get it, it's where you put it to the left after it drops. I agree, zangi it

zangi moves are the best, even on a keyboard!

XaeL

no way. on a keyboard u can do o-spin quadruples. thats > zangi.
