Pineapple, DIGITAL, and me are looking for more opinions.

First take a look here: [wiki]Diagram_Background_Comparison[/wiki]

Do you like the black backgrounds or white backgrounds for the diagrams?

meow

black because it's a good contrast to the wiki's light background (and the forums' as well)

not just choosing black because i like that vid. nearly every tetris game has a dark field background.

Also, the black background stands out more against the white/grey garbage blocks. Makes it easier to see the important pieces, methinks.

If the background is black, will previously black tiles be made white? I've used black in some diagrams to represent the vanish zone -- the area above the visible playfield.

I think white is better.
And it's more... printer friendly.

I`d go for black. On the white background you can see the lines that delineate the playfield. I think this can be a bit distracting.

I made the block images for a white background, but I realise that some images will need to change a little if we switch to black, and I'm more than willing to change the images that need to be changed if necessary.

While I'm talking about the new images, what do people think? Are there any colours that need to be tweaked slightly?

You mean the gridlines on the empty cells? They're there for both white and black, actually. The black has been toned down slightly from what it was at one point, and I could easily make the lines on the white a little bit lighter as well.

I like black because I remember the gaps better.  If we're using black, the colors for the SRS are pretty good for the eyes.  The red could be lighter, like the red used in the plain.

I hadn't even considered the printer-friendliness of white. What does everyone think about that?
