try TOJ, my girlfriend loves it.  The interface is very user friendly and there's a good amount of female players on there but it's not really a "simple" game, there's T-spins, combos, etc.  Also the skill level on there is pretty high.  The only downside is that you have to unlock stuff like sensitivity and more piece previews.

i have no problem at all with playing official games, but it's time for some real pc multiplayer outside of the far east. i'd play TOJ of course but i'm not on Windows so that isn't possible. if Tetrisonline Inc would develop a flash or java browser-based multiplayer game that could be played by anywhere in the world it would be very successful i think.

btw by "real multiplayer" i mean playing against people in real time, not against replays. it's completely different when you have to downstack instead of upstacking to clear garbage

lots of single player options (marathons, 40 lines, block driller/survivor)

and TOJ, that looks very fun too

Tetris aint for girls.

I think tetris is a more girl friendly game than any. Have you ever come across a non-girl friendly tetris game? Just in case more girls want to play we can steer them away from it.

have some self respect, sista. I think you mean noob friendly instead of girl friendly. I know plenty of girls that would not be intimidated by blockbox and play fairly well. In fact the only half way decent tetris players I have personally known in real life have been girls. Anyways, just put in the time, have some fun and eventually you'll get better.

Samael is probably going to be the first non-Japanese female GM soon so I wouldn't say TGM isn't girl friendly .
