Does the gravity change according to your score or number of dropped pieces? How do you log in a second time? Didn't work for me (I didn't use the Facebook login, I entered an e-mail address, but no e-mail was sent to it). It happened to me that the shown playing field didn't match the real playing field. Some pieces stopped falling further while they were still in the air.
Playing Tetris on a 8 wide matrix is interesting, but a 10 wide matrix would give you more choices where to drop a piece. The best thing on your game is the highscore table. There are some things I found disturbing:
- lack of a hard drop key (a key that moves the current piece instantly to the bottom and locks it)
- lack of a button for counter-clockwise rotation
- buttons are not customizable - not everybody wants to play with arrow keys or numpad
- gravity (the speed with which the pieces fall) started too low and didn't increase fast enough
- the rotation system doesn't behave like what Tetris players are used to
In my opinion the hard drop key is the most important thing. Regarding the last point: You have aligned your pieces to the very left top side of its bounding box, only very few old Tetris games did that. That's how rotation works in most Tetris clients nowadays:
In my opinion, I pieces (sticks) as well as S and Z pieces (snakes) only need 2 rotation states, but make sure that S and Z are located right in the middle (3 fields away from the left and right wall) in their vertical state. If you let the L, J and T pieces spawn vertically, then spawn them in the middle, too.

It glitched on me....

The "T" piece just stopped there. The floating "L" piece is the active one. And no, I did not cleverly clear lines to make that happen, it actually just stopped right there and locked in.

Hi, Mickael_Tetris.
I think this is great, but I have a question.
Can your site be available a string with " or ' and so on for password when I register?
I tried to register but an error was returned from server.

Thank you for your comments.
They will allow me to improve the game.
Hi,
Indeed the characters " and ' are perhaps not well managed. I'll try to fix it.
Thanks

Hi Integration,
To answer your question, yes, the gravity change.
Speed increases by 105% every 45 seconds.
It is true that at the beginning it's slow, but it is for beginners to play well.

Currently, rotating will break the move left resp. right chain. However, I don't think DAS is that important, if a games uses a 8 column wide matrix. If you add DAS, you have to ensure that rotating on the walls work (if possible kick the piece to left resp. right if piece is outside of the matrix).

Perhaps you could add a clock and level counter to the game? So gravity is exponential to the elapsed time? If I understood it right, gravity doubles every 10 minutes and 40 seconds. This system means, that it is more important to play fast (and well) than surviving high gravity. If you don't implement harddop, it means that people must know how to setup keyboard delay and repeat speed to softdrop fast and score high.
Anyway, one round took 20 to 30 minutes for me. This is too long, in my opinion. I don't want to play a Marathon game longer than 10 or 12 minutes.
Posted by: morningpee Oct 9 2013, 07:30 AM
Historically, TTC has come down hard on 3rd-party games with "Tetris" in the title or description. For legal reasons, it's probably in your best interest to change that, in case your game becomes popular.

That is why the two scores of over 1000 points?
I must correct it. Thank you for the info.

Always like to see new games being made
Recommendations:
Rotate both directions
Custom controls would be cool
Clearing the matrix after Game Over would also be a pleasant touch.
Keep up the good work!

The customize keys option is a bit hidden (you have to click that small equilateral triangle on the top). Without me knowing that this option existed, I wouldn't probably have found it.
The first impression is really important. People might be discouraged to play it because one has to log in (no guest option). The last 2 times I have tried it, the first few blocks were glitched. They flickered after they touched the ground.

Here is the new site:
- You must complete 20 lines to the next level
- A time bonus saves more points

QUOTE(Integration @ Oct 5 2013, 10:34 PM)

In my opinion the hard drop key is the most important thing.
Your game looks good but you still have to work a little on the gameplay. I see some problems regarding the score system. After you clear a level you get 100 bonus points plus the remaining time in seconds (timer starts at 200 seconds and counts down). That's 250 points on average for me. On the other hand, the line clears reward not more than 56 points per level. So at the end Tetrising (clearing 4 lines at once with a line piece) is rather unimportant. It's about surviving as many levels as possible. Another problem is that the gravity (speed) maxes out roughly at level 10. This speed is rather unchallenging. You could play one game forever.
Now let's head back to Hard Drop and Soft Drop. If you don't know what I mean, the Wiki describes
Hard Drop as
Manual downward motion of a tetromino where the piece lands and locks instantly within a frame and
Soft Drop as
Moving the piece down faster than gravity, while still retaining control over it.
Either add Hard Drop or improve Soft Drop. Currently, the Soft Drop speed is dependent on your operation system's keyboard settings (in case of Windows it looks like http://imgur.com/JcUpeRN). Furthermore, if you hold Down key and tap another key while doing that, the downward movement is interrupted (it's the same problem with the other keys). But the biggest problem is that you will also drop the next piece a few steps down (if you use such a high key repetition rate as I do), if the current piece locks to the ground.
If you want to improve Soft Drop, then you must add some KeyUp events and timers to your game. Soft Drop should roughly work like that: If you press Soft Drop key down, then the current piece moves down 1 step. If you keep pressing the key for 80 miliseconds, then the piece will move down another step. If you keep pressing it another 10 ms, then the piece will move down another step. If you keep pressing it another 10 ms, then the piece will move down another step. And so on. If the current piece is locked down, then the next piece won't be soft dropped. To Soft Drop the next piece you must release the Down key and press it again. You could do something similar with Left and Right key (use a bit higher numbers there and ignore the last sentence).

I have noted your comments.
I'd like to know is that you play under the name "Miss Take" with 9999 points?
Posted by: Integration Nov 5 2013, 10:58 PM
Yes, that's me.
Posted by: Mickael_Tetris Nov 6 2013, 06:42 AM
it's impossible to have 9999 points ! i don't understand...
Posted by: Integration Nov 6 2013, 05:35 PM
It's possible. Like I said before gravity (speed) doesn't increase after level 9 or 10. If you can handle that speed, you can play forever (AKA the http://harddrop.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=3679&view=findpost&p=75460). If you get 250 to 300 points per level, you just have to play 34-40 levels to get a score of 9,999 points.
Posted by: Mickael_Tetris Nov 6 2013, 09:12 PM
Indeed, after a certain level, the speed increases plus.J 'I corrected it.
I had to modify the calculation of points and time bonus for the current record can be improved.
Mickael

Posted by: Integration Nov 7 2013, 07:07 PM
Again: You reward too much completing a level. 500 bonus points per level is too much if you can't get more than 100 points with Tetrising. If the scores on the leaderboard are too high, then just divide them by 5 or whatever (or multiply all following scores by a number).
I recommend the following scoring system:
- Timer starts at 120 seconds. Left time is added to your score
- Plus 10 points if you cleared the 20 lines
- Single = 1 point = 1 point per line
- Double = 3 points = 1.5 points per line
- Triple = 8 points = 2.66 points per line
- Tetris = 20 points = 5 points per line
About speed curve: I reached level 15 at the end. I had no chance to beat this level. However, I had no problems completing the previous level. So I suggest to adjust the speed curve.
Your current time per row (grid cell) is something like this (0.7 is just representive):
const*0.7^level
I would change it to something like this (lower bound could be time per row in current level 16):
lower bound + const*0.7^level

I had to notice that nothing has really changed in the past 3 weeks. The locking pieces are still flashing when you start the game, your final score majorly depends on how many levels you complete and there is still a lack of harddrop (or well implemented soft drop).

To be fair, this is a fairly common scoring method in survival games. http://ccgi.gdward.plus.com/cgi-bin/tetris/, which has a fairly strong following, uses this method. Not saying I support it.

http://mickael.pusku.com/
Posted by: Okey_Dokey Aug 10 2015, 08:54 PM
Yes, it's better. You could do something similar with left and right keys. However, I find it weird, that you combined softdrop and harddrop in one key (tapping = softdrop 1 row, holding = harddrop).
Flawed input behaviour:
- one must release Drop key before the next piece can be moved or rotated (first input for next piece will be ignored if you keep pressing Drop key)
- if one moves and rotates simultaneously, then the movement will be ignored
If you want to seperate harddrop and softdrop, then pressing softdrop should behave roughly like this:
- after 0 ms: piece moves down a row
- after 140 ms: piece moves down another row
- after 160 ms: piece moves down another row
- after 180 ms: piece moves down another row
- after 200 ms: piece moves down another row
- ... and so on
- Only the current piece is moved down. The next piece isn't accelerated. One has to release softdrop key and press it again in order to softdrop the next piece.
