Yes, this all has to do with Win7's default write permissions on the Program Files folder for non-admins. Since Windows isn't allowing files to be written there, you can't change your settings and replays won't save. Moving the Nullpomino folder elsewhere is probably the easiest way to deal with it.

It's a typical socket error. It could mean lots of things, but it appears in this case to mean that something went wrong while trying to read data from a socket.

The NullpoMino Server (nullpo.it.cx) will move soon, most likely today.
I will try to keep the downtimes as short as possible, but there are some to be expected.
I will also publish the new ip when the move is complete, since DNS propagation times can always delay things additionally for people.
Please also note that any new games played from today influencing the records / ratings, will not carry over.
Let me know if you run into any problems, preferably on #nullpo on Quakenet.

The server move worked without problems - all stats should be preserved.

If anybody has problems with DNS (should already be propagated for many):

domain: nullpo.it.cx
ip: 87.98.244.142
port: 9200 (default)

Enjoy the new server, Quad Core with 16GB of RAM.

I just patched the 7.5 server code a bit to allow displaying of the room list on a status page.
You can find the current room list of the nullpo.it.cx server at: http://nullpo.it.cx/roomlist.php
By popular request it additionally shows the (seated) player-names for each room.

The reason for this is pretty clear, people have a browser open all the time, and leaving one tab open for HD is no hassle at all, having an extra application open that produces 2 windows and has a pretty inconvinient chat-system atm, not so much.
I'm not implying the shoutbox would be much better in that regard (chatting-possibilities), it is for sure easier to access tho - and so is the new page with the room overview, it can only give more incentive for people to play.
I'm not sure where you get this idea from that you could force people nowadays to hang out in some game lobby, when so much has moved already to the browser (even google saw this now and canceled some of their products like Desktop, a few days ago). This is not 15 years ago, where being on the internet or online in general was something special and you actually try to be focused in what you do every minute of it, because it costs alot of money.
To make this post a bit more Nullpo related: compared to other games or older games (tnet, etc), why do we have so little people idling? our userbase structure changed, to more people either not being really passionate about tetris or just not having the time for it as they maybe would want and in general it is ofc just alot smaller than for almost any other online game out there. On average our "users-online" number for the amount of total users we have on nullpo (more than once) is not too bad. (I'd actually be interested in making a statistic on this figure once.)
