There is an official streaming calendar. It's been around since the beginning of March 2012, but few people knew that it existed and it wasn't publicized much, which is why nobody was aware of it.

Blink has added a link to the calendar at the top-right corner of the forums, to the right of the breadcrumbs and between your personal bar and search form. In case you accidentally stabbed yourself in the eyes with a carrot and can't find the link, it's also here:

https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=0...ctz=Los_Angeles

If you would like me to add an event to the calendar for you, send me a Hard Drop private message with details about your event. You should include a title, short description, date and time in PST, client/clone on which the game will be played, game participants, and who you have planned/coordinated to be the streamer/commentator(s).

Although I'm not active on the forums much (as you can probably tell by my epic post count), I get email notifications for new private messages, so I'll be able to tend to your request within a few hours.

the raises a question for me. As i start to begin another push towards a maxout in NES Tetris I think it would be fun to stream it once in a while.

But all these things; the notion of it being an "event", even having a title, participants, or commenter would be lacking... Although i rekon I would commet as i play.

So basically it would be just a guy, me, playing some NES rather than a large eventish type of thing. I wonder if this fits the mold?

That's all we did really before TTO and everyone "needed" commentary on each match. Just the streamer playing some single player or streaming some random multiplayer or whatever.

Guys, if you're going to stream, change the channel title before you do so.

Frankly, there's a lot of streamed content that I don't really care about, or at least don't care enough to bother to watch. On the other hand, there are some things that I probably would be interested in. The thing is, when I get a subscription alert saying the channel is streaming I have no fu**ing way of knowing what I'd be watching if I tuned in without actually going to the effort of doing so. All I get is the standard "HardDrop.com Broadcasting Live" crap.

Twitch gives you a feature to let you tell subscribers what your content is going to be from the title. It's in the dashboard. fu**ing use it.

And if you're using XSplit (and I assume most/all of you are) then it's even easier because there's a damn "Announce" tab in the menu bar of the program and you can do it right from that.

I feel there's a basic professionalism and responsibility required using the stream, and this sort of thing is seriously not difficult and I would expect would make a huge difference to the number of people who watch (and also potentially help work out what sort of stuff actually pulls live viewers). If people are going to stream and spam my inbox twice a day then it'd be nice to at least know what is being streamed, and it's an extremely basic thing to do.

I agree on this 100%. It's annoying whenever I check up on HD's twitter, every so often, to see 5 tweets about stream but no title to them. Adam started putting up titles, and I hope everyone else who has access to the stream will start doing so. Otherwise it looks like spam on our Twitter feed.

Also I have to add this on, if you're a new member and you want to commentate.. we're not stopping you from joining in on the commentary, however, you must know the game. If we're giving you instructions on how to get onto the game or you obviously have never played the game.. or don't know the game, why would we want you to commentate with us? There's a reason why the streaming channel is not open to just everyone now, we want quality streams and commentary on our channel.

Let's enforce these rules. Some people are dissatisfied w/ the quality of the commentating on last week's TTO matches. To whoever is streaming: make sure not anyone who asks to commentate is allowed to do so, only pick the ones who you know will do a good job.

Heads up for all HD streamers, Twitch changed people's stream keys so make sure to use the new one when you log in and go here:

http://www.twitch.tv/broadcast

Click "Show Key" and put it in OBS.

I'm bumping this for the streamers of HD - please familiarize yourself with the rules and etiquette posted in the OP.

Please be sure to watch your tongue on the stream, even if a lot of people do not watch the streams the videos are saved on the account for a few days. Swearing and talking trash about other members on the stream are not allowed.

Also, because a lot of people complained about the lack of Tetris related streams, please refrain from streaming anything other than Tetris. If you want to stream another game, please do it on your own channel. Smile.png We do not want to make it seem like we've lost interest in Tetris. This is a Tetris community.

If anyone has anything else to say about streaming etiquette please post it down below.

I'm retaking control over the stream channel with TU approaching. Instead of multiple members having the password, I'll share the stream key with those who want to stream. This way people don't have access to account settings and other things that they shouldn't.

PM me if you want a streamkey

You should also consider making the people with a stream key also a moderater (so we could deal with potential spam etc.) as well as an editor, so they can edit the stream title (I would like to have a more detailed stream title in my email and not just "Tetris") and perhaps highlight some good moments of the session

Don't forget to add them to the editor list too, e.g. if I wanted to stream Tetris now I couldn't change the title (which suggests LoL instead of Tetris) and also couldn't change the game, which is gauntlet atm. This would basically result in people searching for Tetris not getting on the channel and a possible stream shut down from the twitch staff.
