How about displaying the 15 latest topics if they have been active the last 24 hours? If 5 or less topics has been active the last 24 hours, then display only last 5.

Edit: and automatically hide threads with arabic and lots of numbers.

I'm sure by the tiem HD 2.0 comes out, the singularity would have happened, making this a banality.

On the more serious side, voice recognition is easily implementable in the search.
