TGM: best emulators, best clones?

A lot of the information I find online seems outdated, so I'm wondering what the best ways of playing TGM are

1) For emulators, is it still the case that ShmupmameTGM is the preferred option for TGM 2? The readme states that the changes they've made to reduce lag affect TGM 1 negatively. What is the preferred emulator for that one?

2) For clones, is Nullpomino (Grade Mania/Speed Mania) still the most accurate option? I've been reading that there is noticeable input lag, though. How does a recent clone like Shiromino compare to it?

Afaik shmup mame does not run TAP at the correct speed, it is more accurate to use a current version of mame. Shiromino and texmaster are prefered over Nullpomino, as they have less lag.
