You also should account for the garbage type. With garbage on attack, only sending 1 or 2 lines at the beginning prevents the other person from just using the garbage to send a tetris back at you.

I just do it for the back to back bonus, if you can quickly do a tetris or a t-spin, the garbage will be messier than if you just plain tetrised
