The board game reminds me somewhat of Tetris, obviously because it has the Tetris pieces as well as others...but I like it.  Figured I'd see if anyone else has checked it out.

#1 on Amazon so I guess it's more popular than I thought.

never heard of it until you mentioned it now, but apparently there is a PC version of the game also, here is a video if its gameplay:

Yeah I have it, it's pretty fun...I like the board game though and in person better at least thus far.  I just got the World Tour recently.

You can play online. I played a little about a year ago. It's okay.

I'm waiting for Lardarse/Pineapple to find this thread.

How did I know you would say that, honey?

I have Blokus Duo, which is a two player version that's played on a smaller board (14x14, start spaces are 5 in from opposite corners; if you have the big version you can use a 3rd colour to close off the remaining space), which, having played both it and the original version, I think I prefer. There's more immediate confrontation, because you start so close to each other. I haven't tried Blokus Trigon, although I hear it's the best one to play if you have 3 players.

I played against Rosti when I met him back in January, and he said he found it hard to think in terms of touching diagonals because it was a very "un-Tetris" way of thinking. He still beat me, though...
It is only when you open your mind, that you will be able to see how beautiful the world is...

My Blokus board finds a home in the Computer Science Club room when I'm on campus.

Also, Blokus Duo is broken if I recall correctly. The second player can force a tie by mirroring their opponent's placements, haha. As long as you agree not to copy each other, it works out alright.

My friends made a Blokus Duo clone you can play on Facebook. The nice thing about it is that it can support real-time play if both players are on the page at the same time, but you don't have to finish in one sitting; If the other player isn't present, it'll send a notification so they can come and make their move when they return.
