As long as I have been a fan of Tetris, I have never been so interested in finding other hardcore Tetris players as I am now. I have always loved competitive gaming. It began with my SNES. Tetris/Dr.Mario, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat. Nobody, friends or family was going to take me down. I have this level of intensity in many areas. I enjoy disc golf and play 3+ days a week. I love picking up new games and sports and practicing them until I feel that I can compete at a high level of play. So here I am at HD.

I guess my main goal here is to push my Tetris game to the next level (like all of us right?). I'm just lurking around and picking up resources and reading while trying to get in a couple hours of Tetris a night. (I don't really have a lot going on outside of work in life) Please feel free to offer which games I should be playing and skills I should be practicing.

Thanks in advance, and nice to meet you all!

good to meet you. You should be playing tetris - disc golf is also awesome, and whenever I'm in the US I try to play.

Personally, I would suggest the following Tetris games:

Cultris 2: http://gewaltig.net
NullpoMino: http://nullpo.it.cx
Tetris Online Poland (Blitz's Mod): https://www.dropbox.com/s/7051jzk1uunbpa0/T...0Wonderland.zip

Thanks! Sports have always been a big part of my competitive mindset. I love rock climbing, powerlifting, slackline, american football, baseball, lacrosse (though I'm bad), and sand volleyball (also bad). I would like to start playing traditional golf, but it is quite expensive and the learning curve is intimidating. I'd spend a lot of money before getting to the level I am satisfied with.

Aha! Bison! I'm not at a competitive level of SF, but an organization I am involved with hosts FGC events.

They are of different types of competitive play.
NullpoMino and TOJ/TOP/TOW/TOZ are guideline based games, while Cultris II has its own system.
I suggest you play all of them for a period of time, so you can find out what's the system you like most.
