This is a sandwich, but not a hot dog. It just has the sausage, but no hot dog buns.
I find hot dogs and sandwiches similar, but mutually exclusive. It's like giant and red panda. They have some similarities, but they are different species.

Consistent visual evidence of hot dog being sandwich/burrito/waffle has been posted, however 68,66% of harddropers believe hot dogs arent sandwiches. This dichotomy can only be compared to the secrets of the Tetrizoid or the allmighty Lightning bolt. Interesting post so far

since a hot dog is a german thing i can say it 's not a sandwich ! cause sandwiches are made with soft bread AND the hot dog is made with buns!!!!Mr.Hehner would faint...
