I thought it was pretty good; there's a lot of potential.  Adventure mode was pretty awesome... It's probably what going to set you apart from other tetris clones.

One problem that I saw was that the survival rankings aren't about surviving the longest, they're just about score. That might be intentional, though. (?)

Yeah, thats because points and time go hand in hand at survival mode. The longer you survive the higher your score will be. Maybe time would look more impressive though.

I'm working on the options menu for setting up customized controls, DAS and the movement speed of your pieces. Than i gotta take a look at tetris randomize systems :]...

Beta tests for this version would be highly appreciated.  

You are now able to modify nearly all settings, that alter the movement of your tetris piece on your own.

Thanks for considering the suggestions customizable controls alone make it a lot more enjoyable.
Would be nice to know what you're setting the DAS, AR and Soft drop speed to.

Needs lock delay for soft drop.
Also if you know how to implement sound effects I can make you some.

I got 29,200 for Survival  mode.

Thanks for testing. It's really hard to find beta testers, when you're not having a finished product, but are still struggling with bugs and new features.

And when you already have it finished, you won't need beta testers anyways :]... So thanks alot for testing.

I just added a Lock delay for softdrop. What is the usual Lock Delay used ?. I do see the option to either use the usual delay, thats depending on the level you're in, or using a custom delay that doesn't change(thats what i'm currently doing).

Version 0.3 is ready

  • I fixed some bugs, which occasionally occurred when drawing the stats on the right.
  • Replay and Recording Functions (Options -> Recording)
  • Soft Drop Lock delayed
  • Visible Settings for movement delays

Something is wrong with DAS; it doesn't drop charge when I'm tapping. The most awkward things happen when I try to place at one tap but have apparently accumulated enough charge to send the piece flying away to the wall. Tapping back to where I wanted to be in the first place is a similarly precarious situation.

I'd also like to see the rotation system cleaned up a bit. It has some rather strange spawn orientations, and it seems to be strictly left-handed or something. Strict handedness makes enough sense for the I-block, but I think the rest should have a centered footprint. S/Z should be consistent in that they both line up with their center column when rotated so the mirrored case isn't blocked for one piece or the other.

I'm rather fond of Sega rotation and its derivatives. The S/Z/I symmetry -- rotate left from spawn gives left-handed state, rotate right from spawn gives right-handed state -- featured in [wiki]DRS[/wiki] and [wiki]SRS[/wiki] is not a bad way to go when handling those pieces.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I took version 0.3 Offline, because it has way too many bugs.

I'll try to clean that up for version 0.4, add numpad support and probably recheck the rotation.

Oh, and you can also set your keys up to use the Numpad.

Replays are saved in your BBlocks0.4/data/Replays Folder. Feel free to post some :].. The replay function was basicly designed to prevent cheating.

The problem that Kitaru described is still present. I think the DAS charge needs to reset to 0 when you change directions.

There is a bug with the I piece where it loses one of its blocks. When the I piece spawns, move it all the way to the left wall, then rotate counter clockwise.

The pieces rotate like SRS with the exception of the I piece.

The spawn columns for S/Z/J are off by 1 column to the right compared to SRS.

The I piece's center of rotation in SRS is the center of a 4x4 grid. Here's a diagram of the B-Blocks rotation vs SRS, rotating counter clockwise in each frame.

By the way, do you plan on adding kicks for the pieces to allow for twists and kicking pieces off the floor/wall (true SRS)?

edit: Another bug. In survival, if the piece is touching the field and the field shifts up before the piece is locked, the piece is written on top of the blocks on the field.
