Does being terminal count? LOL
The "problem" part of it is that every1 is expecting me to live longer than them and it's pretty annoying when they say "next year we'll blah blah blah" or something like that. Idk why, it just tends to drive me up the wall, can't these guys just enjoy the moment or what? Otherwise it's OK with me but they seem to be in denial.
Another funny problem is that my mother always calls me an addict (internet and Tetris specifically) and disses me because of that, expecting me to sleep all night and work all day like old people do.
So basically my problem is the people around me

Doubt it's a stalker.

My most likely bet would be it's a friend(s) playing a prank on you.

Also, cutting yourself isn't an innocent hobby. It's usually a pretty good sign of some sort of psychological problem, whether you think you've got one or not.
A friend would never say me things like that person did. Also, I banned the bastard out of my blog twice and now (s)he seems to have gotten off my back. I hope this thing won't get repeated again!

OK, now you're just jugding me before knowing anything about me. First off, I have Aspergers, which is 1) genetic, so you can't say I'm just 'weak' or something, 2) causes sensory differences (like the one that makes me resistant to cold. I literally can't feel cold - I register it mentally as a fact but no discomfort. And as long as I don't get sick, it's OK.) Second off, I lead a happy life and if I listened to everybody that wanted me to give up things they didn't like, it would be a less happy one. (I got told the same stuff about videogames by my mother once.   ) Read my blog to learn more, we're going too offtopic here.

If you're looking ahead at your piece previews then you should be able to get your pieces where you want them.  Worst case, use the hold to swap pieces if you haven't got the autoshift activated in time.  It might also be a question of finesse in using the fewest moves possible to get your pieces where you want them, especially if you don't know SRS by heart and are struggling to rotate the pieces where you want them once they have touched the stack.
Well, I'm used to using one rotation key, but that actually may be a problem, yeah. And... auto-what?

Quote from: Anonymous
If you can't move the pieces over to the side fast enough, then try building your stack in a pyramid-like shape where the top is higher than the sides. This way, once your pieces reach your stack, you can still slide your pieces left and right.

Also, consider playing a different tetris clone, such as blockbox  . In blockbox, there is a faster DAS (the time it takes for you to hold down left/right before pieces automatically slide) than Tetris Friends, which means you don't have to tap everywhere (you can place almost every piece with just 2 taps).
Thankies, I'll try that
I would try blockbox but Java doesn't seem to work on my computer. Getting it fixed as soon as I have enough time.

Tetris / Can you ever play too much? :-)

I think you'd die in RL before you ever played too much Tetris.

Um, sometimes I do get sore hands though, so I stop, because I know I've had RSI problems in the past from doing computer work, and I never want to get injured that badly ever again.  It took me a couple years to get over it, mainly because I never took a long enough period to recover, and even now my hands still don't feel the same.

Just be very cautious about any numbness, tingling, soreness you feel, and make sure you take a break if you feel anything wrong.

I'm sure it improves your ability to play Tetris if nothing else, but yeah, I think it might be good for improving your spatial skills.

I think those poems are pretty awful, but at least they didn't end with the word "delete" like one Tetris poem I read before.
1. Agreed
2. Ouch, okay, I'll be careful, that sounds bad. And I don't think I have that many months left, so double bad!
3. Could you link that poem? LOL

Tetris / Can you ever play too much? :-)
August 31, 2009, 05:02:24 PM
I have a few things I'm curious about :-)
1. Did you ever RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) because of Tetris (or any other game for that matter)? I.e. did you ever play so long that your hand(s) were sore afterwards?
2. If yes, how long did it last or how did you get rid of it?
3. Any techniques to prevent such 'accidents'?
4. Does Tetris really improve any cognitive faculty in your opinion or is it just an excuse?
5. I found two nice poems on DeviantArt about this addiction  and here they are:
http://blueyesblackheart.deviantart.com/art/Tetris-134358722
http://lucie-wojaick.deviantart.com/art/Ad...-Haiku-67923346
What do you think about them? I think they're neat and surprisingly deep given the topic

Strategy/Help / Need for Speed
August 31, 2009, 04:54:36 PM
Okay, I've been playing Tetris (mostly on Chinese clone handhelds and lately TFriends) for years now, but I still suck, and I think I just nailed the cause why. On lower levels I do perfect, I can get up to 10 tetrises in a row and things like that (though I'm oldschool, done only 2 T-spins in my life, both last week ), but around the speed of level 9-10 of TF Marathon, I fall behind. I know where to put the damn thing but it stops 1 or 2 columns before it gets where I'm putting it. My hand works a lot slower than my brain. And after such a misdrop (or maybe two or three, on good days) occurs, I tend to panic and "forget" all my stacking skills.
How to overcome this? (Besides practice, practice and more practice of course. That doesn't need to be said, I gave myself RSI when first logging on to TFriends.)

I always said that if I ever had a stalker, I would find some way to exploit them. For example, I'll have a five minute conversation with you for $50. You can touch my arm for $100. I'll let you watch me use the bathroom if you give me your car, etc.

In other news, your avatar is scary. Do you need some help? There are people that you can talk to.
I think this one isn't in love, tells me always how much of a loser I am.... LOL, look who's talking, no better thing to do in his/her life than trying to scare people over the net  But nice idea indeed
And don't try to get me banned because of my avatar, or worse, brainwash an innocent hobby outta me... because that's pretty rude ya know?  And it won't work anyway. I don't have emotional problems (other than being angry at stupid people sometimes), it's just something that feels good (you can take that sexually or otherwise), I'm doing it for 6 years now, and don't need anybody to harass me because of it. Peace

that is really creepy!  maybe it's someone you know playing a trick on you!  but you should be wary of the Internet!  if you delete your blog, you'll have to start all over again!  dunno how u can find out who the stalker is, i think u you should expose your stalker, so everyone reading your blog knows you don't have your old nickname anymore!  and maybe ignore the stalker?  and dont say too much about yourself!  you shouldn't shut down your blog tho!  i hope it's not those serious, scary stalkers!
My readers already know that I don't use that name anymore. I banned the stalker's account, but I'm sure (s)he knows me IRL and will come after me. (Killing people in dark alleys is surely a deranged thing to do but to do this to terminal people, after letting them know that you are after them, is just.... too insane for me to comprehend.)

General / Looks like I have a stalker

Okay, guys, this is seriously creeping me out. Someone on my blog uses my old nickname I got rid of half a year ago (I change them a lot, idk why, lol). Seems like a girl, but you can never know on the internet. Anyway, (s)he know things about me that I never blogged, (s)he replies only to me, and (s)he even made an email address for this sole purpose, containing my birthyear. I ordered this creep to reveal her(?) true identity twice, first time no answer, second time "I'm the one you always wanted to be."; generally, (s)he sounds like some weird deranged person. do you have any idea how to find out who the f***er is? I don't want to delete this blog because I've been doing it for years and I'm terminal anyway so I want this to reamin after me. But atm it seems the only way to get rid of my stalker. Plz help?

Tetris / Tetris Friends Online - First Impressions?
August 27, 2009, 04:01:39 AM
Uh wow. This is something diferent. I'm pretty oldschool, having been on TF for a week or two and having been grown up on clone handhelds like this (which I own still):
On a more serious line of thought: I don't like this item thing. I mean what's the point? You can totally render each other's skills irrelevant by, for example, taking away rotation. Or am I just a whining beginner here?
I don't know if the halts (the match sometimes doesn't start and the screen looks like hanged up) are caused by my shitty internet connection or some inherent problem, did you experience that too?

General / Your favorite color and why?
August 26, 2009, 02:36:44 AM
TBH, I don't really have a fav colour because a) it changes with my mood and b) I think the world would be mighty boring if there'd be only one colour! Bring on the rainbow goodness (and not only because of what it means)! I tend to like bright/neon and "pure" colours though, pure as in containing only 0s and Fs. Pastels are just too weak.
