EA Tetris is a licensed Tetris game for Apple iOS (available for 0.99 USD) and Google Android (free download on the Play Store). There is a membership option, which gives lower shop prices, earns 15% more lines, t-coins, and points. The membership, called the T-Club, costs 2.99 USD for one month or 29.99 for twelve months.

This version of Tetris was later released for Android phones and tablets. This version is age-restricted to 13+ due to COPPA-enforced age verification (including Android).

One-Touch

One touch mode offers a simpler way to control the tetriminos, by tapping the screen instead of dragging and sliding them. 1-5 possible placements will show up, and by tapping the outline, the tetrimino will drop there.

One-Touch

The scoring and levels is done the same way as Marathon Mode.

If the player doesn't accept the visible choices, they can press the cycle button on the left for more choices, or drag one of the outlines to the desired position.

In newer versions, the One-Touch and Marathon modes were combined.

Marathon

Marathon is like normal Tetris, but the controls are different since you are playing on a touch screen. You slide your finger left or right to move the Tetrimino left or right, flick down to perform a hard drop, slide down to perform a soft drop, and tap the "Hold" icon or flick up to hold a piece. T-spins, Tetrises, Combos, and Back-to-back Tetrises can be performed in this mode. Touch the left side to rotate -90 and the right side to rotate 90.

Galaxy

Galaxy is an exclusive feature to the iOS edition. It is similar to one-touch, but the playing field is smaller, tetriminos are not randomly generated, and there are some blocks already onscreen. Players place tetriminos to remove the onscreen blocks. As you progress through Galaxy, Power-ups (Comet, shatter, best fit) appear. The better you do in Galaxy, the more T-Coins you earn, which can be used to buy songs or extra levels in Galaxy. When you are about to top out, red lines appear and you hear beeps (this was toned down in the 2017 update). Tetris+s can be done in this mode.

Galaxies include:

  • Make A Wish: A tutorial galaxy giving basic instructions on completing the game (everything else is disabled).
  • Major Tom: Valentine-themed designs
  • Golden Eye: Long vertical gaps
  • Watch Tower: Christmas-themed designs
  • Cronus: The garbage well contains square-shaped holes
  • Enterprise: The well has large diagonal gaps.
  • Fire ball: The well is images of reptilian creatures (including lizards, snakes, dragons, etc.)
  • Saucer: The garbage well is reminiscent of tetriminoes.
  • Evaaa!: Small wells, tight tetronimo count, and restriction of powerups.
