Arrow + hold? Why? Left/right + hold currently takes you to the wall; I can't imagine why it'd be important to hold while moving :\

Call it bad finesse Hot.png , but I charge my das while i'm holding, i.e. press left, hold (das charges while holding), and then harddrop/tapback/whatever.

Ah, DAS preservation, makes sense. Damn, I liked that combo. What might feel better to you for wall drops? I was also thinking about reversing the shift+harddrop behavior to drop at the wall, since a double tap is more reliable than DAS timing...

It repeats the last sequence of garbage, yeah. If you made it to the bottom and cleared the progress gauge, consider yourself a winner Smile.png

I mean to create a more robust garbage sequence at some point, but I wanted to show the idea in general to see if anybody cared and to solicit ideas about the garbage "curve"

You can create your own garbage sequence as described in the OP to play around with. 7 turns is hardly anything, but it turned out pretty decent so I will probably reuse some of those ideas as I expand the game to the point I have in mind.

Edit: Here's one that's a bit harder Wink.png

clicky

Haven't beaten it yet, but I've come close. This was more of a joke than anything but it's kind of fun anyway Smile.png

Haha, sure. This is an experimental single-player mode based on King of Stackers.

In KoS, you place seven pieces a turn and then your opponent plays. You receive garbage between turns and can block/cancel it at the beginning of your turn.

In this game, you aren't playing an opponent so it just sends you preset garbage amounts. You are supposed to get an idea for how the garbage flow goes and then build a strategy to survive it.

This isn't the final game, just a sort of preview/interest check, so there isn't anything like a defined goal or a leaderboard. Surviving all the attacks and then clearing to the bottom of your field seems a pretty good goal at the moment.

The link I posted above is possibly impossible, so if that's the one you are talking about, well there you go Wink.png I didn't design that one to be realistic, I just made it for kicks.

I'm even enjoying this without garbage blocking, once that gets worked out it should be awesome!

It has garbage blocking - it's just turn based like KoS. You'll have to count pieces; I could have a counter but I think it'll be good training to be aware of your bag boundaries. If you clear lines while you have garbage pending you won't receive garbage. Immobile all-spin garbage rules KoS style, so if you layer a few spins you can knock quite a bit off.

baseballboy, you'll be happy to know you can bind metakeys (ctrl, alt, shift) too, at least if your browser lets you. Windows will still steal the windows key however.

thanks man! except now that i broke my spacebar/arrow keys while getting angry at cultris, i had to completely shift my arrow keys and harddrop buttons elsewhere. once i get a new keyboard i'll definitely use them Grin.png

I meant the preemptive strike bit you addressed in the OP Sticking Out Tongue.png I know you can cancel while the garbage is waiting.
