How long have you been playing tetris for?
I'm not sure, apparently when I was 6 or 7 I played some primitive version of tridimensional tetris (I was the best at it out of my two sisters and I Grin.png). I've played a few different versions of tetris from time to time. I especially recall enjoying one that played the song Für Elise. I also tried my hand at first person tetris (but it made me too dizzy). However I took it up seriously nearly 3 years ago.

So what made you take up tetris seriously 3 years ago?
I was listening to some classmates talk about how they kept on beating each others' scores on facebook tetris friends, and I decided to beat their scores. Once I did that (within the day) I just kept going. I enjoyed improving my score.

Was it marathon mode?
Yes. I don't really play marathon anymore, but I think it was a good mode to get started on.

What was your score on marathon?
I don't remember, I didn't use to keep track. I just played and hoped to get a better score, there was no strategy involved. I don't think I even realized that there were strategies at all.

What Tetris platforms do you currently play?
Mostly nullpomino and tetris friends

Which platform do you like better and why?
If we're talking purely game mechanics, I prefer nullpomino. It runs very smoothly, doesn't have lag, and just looks and feels more serious than tetris friends. I also really enjoy all the different modes you can play and how customizable it is.

Yeah Nullpomino is definitely really customizable. Have you tried any other Tetris platforms besides TF and NP?
I recently tried blockbox. I liked the feel of it, but couldn't get used to the previews on the top. I think if I spend more time on there I could probably learn to play quickly despite of that.

I remember a few months ago you submitted your 40 lines time for POTM. Was was the previous time you had improved from and how long did it take you to improve?
I went from 48.01 seconds at the beginning of March, to 38.xx seconds by the end of the same month. Xenoslash ended up beating me out for POTM, he also improved a lot that month.

That's really good. Do you have a goal for 40L?
I never really thought I'd get this fast, so any improvement is fun at this point! I guess I'd like to sub 35 though, since I'm so close Smile.png

Do you have any tips to share with newer players or players looking to improve their 40 lines time? Care to share your practice regimen?
I don't have a practice regimen, in fact the moment tetris stops being fun for me, I intend to quit. I just try to play a few games of 40L most days and analyze what I'm doing wrong when I don't get a good time. There are a few specific things that I have changed completely from how I played when I first started working on my 40L time, such as rotating in both directions and using DAS. I think the main thing I'd tell a new player is that playing a lot will improve their time and to work on stacking neatly and efficiently.

So what makes tetris fun for you now?
I mainly enjoy multiplayer tetris, not as much 40L. I like learning new setups, especially if they involve t-spin doubles or even more so t-spin triples. I am very competitive, so I also really enjoy winning. Then there's also the social aspect of tetris, which I think a lot of games lack. I enjoy meeting new people and tetris has allowed me to do that.

How did you find out about Harddrop?
I think the first time I came across it was when I was searching for the back to back t-spin triple setup so that I could teach myself how to do it. I remember thinking something like "DAS, TF, NP, SRS, ARS, TSD, TST, PC, ... OKAY, now you're just making them up!" I was overwhelmed by the amount of abreviations and information but it also brought tetris to the next level I didn't even realize existed.

What else do you do in your spare time besides play Tetris?
Play the piano, teach myself languages, ride a unicycle and play soccer with my friends.

How long have you been playing piano for? and who is your favorite composer?
I've been playing the piano for the past 10 years. My favorite composer is probably Craig Armstrong

How did you come up with "Estrelleta" as your username?
Estrelleta means "little star" in Catalan. I've always liked stars, and I also like the idea of representing Catalunya (the north-west of Spain) by having my name be in the Catalan language. I've met a few Catalans on tetris friends thanks to it.

What is your Tetris dream/goal?
I hope I get to the point where I consider myself a very good player. I'm a perfectionist though, so that may not happen LOL

Any shout outs for Harddrop?
ah yes barneey, xenoslash, salami and baseballboy Heart.png

Same here, especially considering my username... I thought everyone was talking to/about me for a bit. Purely a coincidence.
