@ Paradox, obviously it would be "ideal" for people to play at a specific time.. but do you ever consider the time differences people may have?

if you actually read my entire post I proposed a solution to that.

and if you read, i wrote exactly why it wouldnt work out for this tournament
loool

but obviously you may have missed it.. even tho you copied JUST the top of the answer here you are again
Also.. i know you think coming up with a regional tournament is cool and maybe it would be for the future... but I mean if it was that way we would never get to see blink and hebo play THAT, and a lot of the players in Japan are very good and they can play with their own time zone just for fun.. the idea is to explore all different types of players around the world.... cause it would be easiest to play with those in your own timezone right?

ALSO, if you didn't notice Rost is trying this idea with his weekly tournaments, and sometimes not that many people show up.. and 1pm PST is actually a pretty good time for most of the world (maybe not Japan... ) but a BIG CHUNK as you would say.. and look how many people show up then? it fluctuates but it's not enough to host a bigg-er tournament like this one. loool

That is not what would happen at all because this was not what I was proposing. what I was saying was for people to be first matched up by time zone, then once we get to the point where we are close to the finals it would be done by scheduling since that is when the time zone conflicts come into play. That way the first rounds go by much faster and all the hype is left for the final matches. People from all areas are still participating in the same tournament.

Does blink or hebo participate? then now you know why there are less because they completely sway the amount of participants. Additionally, this tournament is bigger because you have ties not because of your scheduling is different than the nullpo weekly. Also the nullpo weekly is a consistent tournament so there isn't as much hype.

So to clarify what I was proposing for future tournments:
People sign up from anywhere
People are first matched with people in their time zones
The time zones are scheduled for a specific day/time (separate days can avoid confusion)
The top players move on to play against the other regions and it is then done by scheduling (which takes longer but its okay since there are few matches left + More hype)

Anyway I'm not positive that it would be the best way to do it either, I'll probably test it out if I decide to host a tourney.

okay guys for the last time
this is MY tournament lol and I think I actually run SUCCESSFUL tournaments compared to many of the ones you guys run (no offense) so please if you have an idea you can PM me and we can discuss it or for all means you can host it yourself.

SEE WHAT THE THREAD SAYS? says RULES AND BRACKETS?

also, in NO WAY can you even GET that idea from your first post so if anything you should be more CLEAR if you were to make a suggestion. lol moreover, I think it works fine right now the way you want it to work only really helps out those who commentate and want to watch and not those who want to play (which btw makes no sense cuz this is for the players not so much the viewers....) oh and one more thing, it is not a problem at the beginning of the tournament as much as it is after the first round is played.. and mainly in the lower bracket (from experience) ... so I don't think that's the problem.

I'm pretty fed up with all of you telling me what to do. In no way am i pissed off as much as this might sound, but i'm getting to the point where I'm getting extremely annoyed.

THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL HARD DROP TOURNAMENT, THIS IS A PERSONAL (I AM HOSTING IT, MY NAME IS ON IT.. I DON'T NEED YOU TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO) and that is my attitude from now on.
official hard drop open tournament ideas can be brought up to blink if that ever comes up, I just help him run it.

AND THAT IS THAT.
easy.
